As hard as I am on them, apparently, it's probably not worth it. Guess I'll just carry my 18mm socket and a ratchet when I go fishing. ;) My Jeep already gets some strange looks around here. Wonder what kind I'll get with my sway-bar riding in the roof basket?

You do not need to take the entire sway bar off. You can take the bolt outta the upper end link and put some rubber hose over the sway bar so it wont make a noise when it hits the lower A-arm..

i still dont see why you people think its dangerous driving to the trail with your front swaybar off. its only when you take the back one off at the same time that makes it unsafe. and if you leave the back one on, it will actually let the front end flex, thats the purpose you disconnected it to begin with, instead of letting the back do all the work and the front only moving a couple inches.

all you have to do is not drive like an andretti there and you will be totally ok.

lots of us have taken it off and left it off all the time.

Here are some pictures of both sway bars off. Stock springs witha Daystar 1.5/2.5 pucks. Stock shocks and a 5/8 clevis lift and stock tire size. It's a nice comparison against a fully loaded Rubicon with swaybar disconnect. With longer shocks in the back, I'm sure it would be very comparable. Having said that, you can also see the difference between a SFA and IFS.

I've tried every combination of swaybar settings. With the rear off, I found that traction control hardly kicked in as the rear was able to flex quicker. With the front off, it makes for a very confortable ride. So, for offroad, both sway bars off are the only way to go. It makes for a much smoother ride offroad. I do have some video of it in action, once I figure out how to do the conversion, I will post it.

Sorry about the pic quality but these are off a video cam.

The instructions call for a significant grinding of the control arm. I followed the instructions and ground off my ABS tabs, and other portions now I have no clunking or popping.

It is a Jeep, and even though some thing is "bolt-on" some mods are always needed.....Or just turn the radio up louder.

i remember the instructions saying to grind the ABS tabs....but nothing else ... what did you need to grind off ?

i got a set from the first shipment and i think i heard they changed the instructions because of all the complaints

can you upload or explain?
