I had a mechanic do my LBJ's. Some what glad I did. I hung around while he worked on it and he had a really hard time getting the old DC's out and the moogs in with a hydro press. To get the knuckle out he unplugged and removed the wheel sensors. Put it back together and now my ABS light is on. He says to wait a few days and it may clear itself. Anyone else have this happen and have it go away? He said the computer detects the loss of signal from the sensor and it takes a while for it to clear. I think he broke the wire or the sensor.

This is the one reason I hate having others work on my jeep. It always comes back with something not quite right.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes? If it's gonna go away, that should do it. Otherwise, sounds like he either broke something or something needs to be reset. I don't have ABS so I'm not real sure, though.

I'd say he broke the sensor or forgot to plug it back in.

Yea, check to make sure he plugged them back in first... Then you could try unhooking the battery..

He said he was sure he plugged em' back in. I unhooked the battery. Let it sit for 2 hours unhooked. No dice. Came back on after a few seconds. Called the mech. He said bring it back in. He will hook it up to the computer and see what the KJ says is wrong. I hope it is a wire or the connection is loose.

I read if metal shavings or particles get on the sensor it messes it up. Hope he fixes it free of charge but I am preparing for a battle. Betcha one of those sensors are pricey!

Thanks for the help. I'll let ya'll know what happens.

Make him fix it for free don't let him b/s you. It went in there fine and comes out with an abs light on. I'm betting he damaged one of the wires to one of the front sensors while he was working on it.. I dont think those sensors are too pricey. List is like $50 each depending on what side and what year.

No charging there. The mechanic pulled something apart that was working fine going in. Charging you to fix it could lead them into major trouble!

Took it is this morning. Computer says the right front sensor is shot. He said he is going to "try" to find a replacement part. I'll give him a few days then buy it myself if he can't "find" it. all he gotta do is go to a dealership! Got the feeling he is going to string me along and hope I will give up on it. Uh uh, comes to stuff like this and I am a pitbull. If he refuses to make good I'll get it fixed from the dealer and give him the bill.

20 bucks from the dealer! I ordered it myself, called and told him I have the part. Gonna pick it up tomorrow morning. He didn't sound very motivated about replacing it. Temped to just swap it out myself and give him the bill for the part. Hate dealing with these guys.

That's a shame!! He screws it up and you end up having to darn near fix it. WTF is wrong with these shops???? And they wonder why nobody likes taking their vehicles in to get fixed. Buch of a-holes. It's not all of them but it's the few that make all shops look bad. :x Id be at shop like flies on doo doo demanding to fix it for free of charge after all he broke it.

It's not worth the stress. I want it fixed now. I don't want to drive around without the abs. Especially when I have my MTR's on. When you need it you need it. Prolly won't and I hope I don't but better safe than sorry. He said it would be a while before he had time to fix it.

He just lost any further business with me. I am looking for someone to install ARB lockers next year and so far I am coming up empty. They all want to much to do it and I don't know if I can trust anyone to do it right.

I know what you mean i'm as impatient as you can get. I want stuff done yesterday. Plus driving around and have a warning light on drives me insane. His loss of business, not your's. Check with some speed shops or 4x4 shops in your area alot of those guys can do good work. You dont want any joe blow setting up your diff's.
