A camping weekend would be great, I've reserved the Turney Gulch group camping area for Friday 6/22 through Sunday 6/24. Group camping on the mountain friday night then wheeling from the trailhead back to camp for a Saturday night camp-out. Who's leading?

Turney Gulch group camping area is off the senator highway, in the horsethief basin area, past horsethief lake, SE of Crown King. GPS coordinates 34-10.5 N by 112-17.1 W

Trip details to be announced.

We need a trail leader for this one!

Travis? Come wheel with us!

Camping sounds good..........although not sure if we'll be able to camp.
Are you thinking about the trail backwards?? North to south, or Leaving the campground early Sat and taking the I17 south to Lake Pleasent, then start the trail and head north?

Hey o8k, I also have a t-case skid that needs installed but will require modification (there is a drawback to the 45RFE lol). I don't know all that much about mechanics yet, but I would be willing to offer an extra set of hands if we can get a wrenching day going for LOST.

Oh, and as for CK, I'm not sure I'm ready for that run yet. However, if anyone would be willing, I would love to ridealong. I have one engagement that I'm waiting to see which Saturday it is (police ridealong that I really want to go on).

I know there have been a couple of KJs run CK without a lift so you should be fine. If you need help installing stuff let me know - as long as work doesn't interfere I can help (and I even installed my own lift :P ).

Alright cool. I'll play it by ear until then, but I would really like to be able to go up there.

We've taken a bone stock liberty up crown king before with no problems. The liberty is amazingly capable. Most of the obstacles are bypassable if you desire. It's been a few years since I've run it though. I've heard it has been graded in places and is easier, but last years rains generally did a number on all the trails state-wide.

My friend who works at Jeep made the run with a bone stock Liberty as well, although it should be noted that it was not *his* Liberty.

I'm convinced, the wife and I will try to be there!

Time and place?

Well, I can't speak for everyone but I am thinking 7-7:30am would be a good time to meet at the starting point on the north side of Lake Pleasant. This trail tends to be very popular and can take most of the day to complete. Since you're coming up from Tucson you may want to come up Friday night and grab a room. I know I'll be waking up around 5:30 (yikes  ) to make it to the start point by that time, so I may wind up taking a nap on the trail if I can get someone to strap me along for a half-hour or so :P

Coincidentally enough, my wife is flying in to Sky Harbor on Friday evening, so we were planning to do exactly that.

I have put Skid Row tranny and transfer case skids on a CRD, so I have managed a little creative destruction to get the skids to work. I have all the tools you would need and would be willing to help, I am in Queen Creek, if interested.

Pending a solution to my CV rubbing and a new boot, I am in. (Maybe I take it to Desert Rat Fab and tell them to make a strap for it...)

I've reserved the group site. AZLOST is paying.

Total camping expenditures for everyone equals $0

Come on up and join us for a fun weekend!

I'll probably be leaving about noon on friday Dan, I'll coordinate with you later. BTW- I liberated your Moab shot glass, expect it to get some usage Saturday night around the campfire. In moderation of course!

I haven't been on this trail in 3-4 years. What's the conditon of the ledge, is it doable with a stock KJ with full skids?
