 Post subject: 4 LO and ESP

When in 4 LO is the ESP light supposed to come on? I was practicing shifting into 4 LO and noticed the light come on.

Yes. The light comes on because ESP goes into a different mode when 4-LO is engaged. That ESP mode allows more tire spin before engaging traction control braking and it does not do the ESP throttle reduction. It also changes the rollover mitigation to allow for more extreme angles at slow speed and disables your airbags. I think it modifies your ABS too, but that may happen in 4-HI too, don't remember.

It does all of the above when you press the ESP off button in any Transfer Case Setting (2-Hi, 4-Hi, 4-FT, 4-LO).
