I change my oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, differentials, tranny and trasfer case fluids along with rotating tires. Am I neglecting something that should be done, I never take it in anywhere for service, is my CRD missing out on something that I should be providing service wise? let me know if there is something else I should be doing, thank you.

Did you remember to rotate the muffler bearings?

No, I'll check on those, my glasspack has been creaky lately. :D

Do you need to change the coolant on this? I remember reading somewhere that it should be flushed every now and then...

It's a good idea to replace the brake fluid every 3 or 4 years. This saves problems with rust and exepensive anti lock brake failures. Castrol LMA brake fluid from Amazon seems to work well.

I don't carry the manual with me but the coolant issue is important as I recall on diesel with the sleeve configuration we have. At 50K it might be good to check it out. I am real pleased you didn't miss the muffler bearings as even the finest mechanics often do.

Funny stuff. These seem much higher quakity then the ones we used back in the 60's. We could only muster 40>50K out of them back then. The new ones must be microprocessor controlled.

There is the...uh...vacuum boost controller filter i think is what its called?

It is a little filter just behind the airbox. Looks like a clear fuel filter. Check it and if you arent happy with how it looks....change it.

Also the power steering fluid, just pump out what you can and refill once a year.

All good Ideas that I didn't think of, I'll have to see what the coolant says.
