I had a dream where I put a big, wide plastic cone in scooping air into the headlight to get a sort of "air scoop" into the stock airbox. Sort of like one of those collars they put on dogs when they have an injury to keep them from licking/biting the wounds. Anyways, hoping to put more air into the system (I know, I know, it HAS a turbo).

Is the headlight the only entry point for air or is there some sort of feed off the radiator area? That would make the scoop pointless because then the pressurized air would squeek out.

The fact that I dream about this stuff is scary...

Don't forget to drop a block of dry ice into the airbox too. :)

Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide. Putting it in your intake would smother your engine.

You would get more umph if you put the dry ice on the intercooler

any opinion on the ram scoop? Is it worth even a trial? Certainly would be cheap enough...but dorky looking.

There was another thread where I suggested a Subaru WRX scoop would look good on a CRD. The Snorkel is another answer for good clean cool air and it is here already.

When folks 1st started fitting the Gas air boxes - someone left out the deflector that goes in front of the scoop

and said there was an improvement. He didn't keep it that way because of worries about rain flooding the air

filter (the original reason for the air box swap). So it might be worth testing (although not in Texas this week)

FYI - if you think about this stuff at night - it's not called a dream - it's called a Nightmare.......

The nightmare is the one with air leaing into the fuel lines and making the injector pumps destroy themselves running dry...

This scoop is more of a re-occuring obsessive fantasy. Much like, well, all this diesel-head stuff.

Honestly, there is no cure. I will manufacture a scoop this week and take pictures so that you all can laugh!
