Hi guys. I have done a little research only to find out that the backfire/poping noise of the exhaust may be caused by the following situations:

1, bad injection diverter valve
2, ignition timing
3, cracked exhaust manifold..

Could some body please help me how to get the noise fixed??

Thanks a lot in advance.

When does it make the popping sound? After reving it past 3000 rpm, and then letting off the gas while stationary, or does it do it all the time?

yea, explain alittle more what you mean by popping..

If its after you rev it up and let off the gas, then thats normal..

yup, mine does it with the flowmaster too!

You should hear it with no muffler!

Or better yet, you should hear a hemi without the muffler!

Same here. Id have to say overall I am not happy with the Super 40 Flowmaster. When the RPMs start getting high under acceleration it starts to sound a little like a tricked out Honda to me. Maybe thats just how it sounds in the car and its diff outside tho. I kind of expected a deeper yell from it than I got. I wonder if the Borla or Magnaflow is deeper, we should have a sound off! lol

Im happy with the sound of my 50seris SUV. Ive read complaints like that on the 40series..

It has a nice low rumble at idle and in the low rpms under acceleration. Once you get around 3 I cant really hear anything, but if you floor it, it really opens up and sounds nice.. 8)
