you dont have to be in a designated campsite? or is that only the rules in a national park

check the national forest website, but my understanding is that you can just plop your tent down and camp....

thanks. i did find a few national forest campgrounds too. i'm not going to camp at the same campground that you are because its kinda far from the 49er. so, ill either camp next to the trail near the entrance, or i'll probably camp at s-tree.

Wish I could make it down guys.. Im heading home this weekend and with all the problems Ive been having with my jeep as it is, I dont want more wear and tear..

haha, I dont believe Ive ever been to Livingston when it was sunny! Its always raining or snowing! I bet you all will get up all those rocks with a problem! 8)

Count me in guys! I've been to Livingston once in the rain and had a blast. I'll have a buddy with a TJ coming too.
