I agree air might be getting in...but do you know that it is the filter head? Could be anywhere along the line....

Agreed, I suppose it wouldnt be too hard to to a leak rate test on the fuel system. I could isolate the filter assy and check the filter head and the lines seperately.

the first time I primed the system I noticed fuel seeping past the seal between the pucks, not much, and at the time I did not know it was a vacuum system and when the running system did not leak I assumed all was well.

I have not filed yet, maybe there are levels of problems associated with filing one of these? I will not file lightly, if there is an option to file as a concern, and not a problem I'll do that. sounds like they are looking at our little community though, maybe there are enough real problems that there will be another recall. I'm pretty sure there is enough concern just among those of us here that we might get some notice.

I'll research the process today and post back asap. maybe if concerned owners post it would help. squeaky wheel dontcha know......

I think that they are interested in the electrical problem associated with the fuel leak and the hazard that it represents. If however that is related to the overall poor design of the filter head and that the leak will eventually surface they should look more broadly.

On the "Limp" topic I would like to get a focus on that issue to see if it really is related. It happened to me last week and I think it is fuel related. I don't know if it threw a code though but I think from others experience it has not. If I knew it was fuel, and related to an air leak, I would like to report it particularly if it was associated with the filter head. So far though my head shown no signs of a leak.

so I filled out the report and did not submit it, mostly to see what was involved, and also to see how difficult it was. It was not at all difficult, BUT, the form does not give an area for "concerned" mostly words like deaths, accidents, fire, injury, etc......more serious problems than I think I have at this point. good for me.
so, do I wait till something really bad happens, or should I fill the form out as honestly as possible and in the comments area, really press the point that it is an area of concern, potential vehicle stalling resulting in accident, that kind of thing.
what are your thoughts here?
