Anybody ever get interference from your cell phone over your cd/stereo?

I have the RBQ 6 disc dash changer and everytime i place my motorola phone on the dash it causes my radion to shut down for a second. but when it is in the visor or in it's holster on my belt, all works perfectly?

GSM phones will generally cause some interference with radios, but it is usually only a little buzzing when the GSM radio is active. GSM providers are Cingular/ATT or T-Mobile. They are also the phones that have the little SIM card.

I've got a GSM Razor v3 and every now and then there's interference from the phone. Hasn't caused my radio to "shut down" though -- only chirping noises.

Yeah, only stupid motorolas cause the problem, and I think it is the amp causing the problem, not the stereo.
I never had this on any one of my phones, they are all GSM and no motorola.
My coworker used to sit there with his motorola on NEXTEL, there you go,... he changed his service to Verizon, and another motorola, again..

Another V3 Razr here and it causes noises with the RBQ but not causing it to shut off. It did not however affect the stock single disc radio that was in my KJ before I put in the RBQ...go figure.

Weird, I have a V3 Razr and I've never noticed any interference at all. Where on the dash do you put the phone to cause interference? I always put mine in one of the cupholders in the center console (or in the little pocket next to the "lighter" plug. Never heard a peep from the radio.

It's in my jeans pocket and it's STILL interfering :) This does not happen all the time though, most likely it has something to do with phoning home, checking vmail or some periodic tasks like that.

For me it when I have dialed and am reaching to turn down the volume with the hand that is holding the V3...or if it is ringing and I reach to turn down the volume with the hand that is holding the V3. Anywhere else is the KJ and there is no noise...I'd say it has to be within 6" of the RBQ to get the noise.

If any of you still got old CRT TVs, put your phone next to it, and call your phone and watch the aliens try to communicate with you..

It does not effect my car stero but it comes through my computer speakers at home and at work and I have a Nokia. Solved the problem. Changed from Cingular to Alltel. Problem gone. Also changed to a LG AX355 phone.

I don't have any problems with my CDMA phone, but my dad's GSM phone will sometimes make the speakers click. There's actually a Chrysler TSB on this issue:

08-046-06
Audio System - Cell Phone Induced Clicking From Speakers
