That's a great write up!

Here's the cliff notes version. Cut the plastic around the pinch welds, take a big heavy hammer and go to town, then use an undercoating spray to cover cover up the freshly beat area. It feels a little wierd to take a hammer to your Jeep but it's worth it (and fun).

I cut the plastic up two sides, beat the pinch weld flat, sprayed with rust-proofing primer, heated the plastic flap, flattened it out, cut it down to fit the space, then used the trim pieces to melt them with the heat gun like I was soldering the flap back into place. Worked great!

Wow, 265/75/R16s. What kind of rubbing to you get? What year is your KJ?

Beat the pinch weld with big hammer (take the wheel off 1st).

Cut the plastic just enough to expose the pinch weld and get to work w/that hammer.

Ditto here. It was actully fun to beat the hell out of the jeep with a big hammer.

Took about an hour for the whole job.

I also heat gunned the fog lamp door. I proped a peice of wood against the plastic and heat gunned it. It took about 15min a side for that part.

I prob. didn't even need to do it but I was going to run 265's untill I found that the 245's would save me over $100 and money was tight.
