Came back from dealer. They said they reprogramed the computer. The vehicle went into limp mode when it detected something wrong. Service guy stated that many newer vehicles do this. The computer senses something wrong and gets you off the highway and with just enough power to limp you home. It also locks out 1st gear, which it did on my vehicle. I stick drove the car home. He said many times if you pull over and shut it off, it will return to normal. Happens on all newer vehicles not just the deisel vehicles. That's good to know that it is not just with the CRD's. Now the howl is still there and I did have a windshield replaced 8 months ago. He wants the QC manager to go out with me, and QC guy was not in today. Drove the CRD home and what a difference in performance in my 2.8 diesel compaired to the 2.4 liter gasser Compass. Felt at home again. The Compass was comfortable, but a dog to drive it should be tubo'ed.

Found out what the howl is. It's the windshield that was not sealer properly when they replace it. Will be fixed on Friday. Thank the Lord they found it. QC Tech guy couldn't believe how loud it was and knew right away. We then went back to dealership and taped the window up, all the howl stopped.
