I just saw (yah I know I should check in more often) that the Rubicon Run was canceled. I was just getting excited to run it with some of you all. Is anyone still interested in running it in the same time frame, maybe a little longer?

I would love to but I have to get my SFA project finished before I run up there. I am not sure I fully trust my XJ to make the trip there and back And wheel the Con. I am hoping to have my KJ back by Oct. but isn't that pushing it weather wise up there? I'm not a big fan of snow or freezing cold wheeling. :?

BTW, Did you get my PM on NAXJA?

darn, well I'd still like to put something together. Just talked with Alex and he might be in. I think late Sept might be pushing it but Oct. You never really know, depends on the weather but I'd hate to get snowed in.

Yes and I replied back.

I'm going next week Mike. If you do go the 7th or 8th I might join you also. At least for part of it. But I'm really clear after October 6 after that. The weather should be good but cold as heck in October. We'd have to look for fronts coming and all that.

Can something be set up next year? Mine will be done, and that will be a great test, maybe get mags to ride along... 2 different SFA KJ's on the Rubicon together... Now that would be a cool magazine trip write up!

You should think about that 'test' on something where you're not on a 3 day run.

I plan on doing it at least once next year. Maybe this October if a local club is going. Perhaps someone in LOST will organize a run next year.

It will be plenty tested by next summer, but the Rubi is a test for any rig, or so I have been told.

Agreed, but you have tougher trails there in the Rockies. And there are tougher trails in the Sierra as well.

Walked through the Con when my Rubi was stock no probs...it aint too tough a trail these days with the super rigs out there...I thought Dusy was MUCH harder and there are a few more too that I thought were harder...dont think KJs would do too well on Dusy but Ive been proven wrong before 8)
