The Liberty Diesel isn't a turbo diesel though, it's a common rail diesel. Or am I mistaken?

To me this is kinda like Japanese vehicles who slap a v-tec sticker on a toyota with a 4-banger.

or like those people who slap "6-speed" emblems on when they drive an automatic.

After I got my emblem, I posted a photo of it to my LJ - I had people I know saying it was cheesy....until they figured it out that it was *actually* a 6-speed. They just thought I was one of the too-cool-for-school v-tec Japanese vehicle kids.

I like the idea of slapping a diesel logo on there, but I think you could have found a less ricey one. I saw somebody in Cembridge the other day with a CRD that said "powered by BioDiesel" under "CRD". Tres Cool.

I saw this on a VW TDI, it's from tdiclub.com and says "Yes, It's a Diesel" on the bottom:

Didn't think I would get flamed. I think it's cool ... so your opinions are noted. I looked all over for a turbo diesel emblem that wasn't a decal. This one was the only one I could find that I liked. I guess the emblem isn't anymore Japanese vehicle then the clear altezza tail lights.

If this thing wasn't turbo it would be a dog. Just like any Diesel would be.

Noone is flaming you, we're just presenting the fact that you are misrepresenting your rig. It has a turbo in a sense, yes, but it is not a turbo diesel in the common sense of that classification. It'd kinda be like me putting the 4.0L logos from a rangler on my 3.6L KJ. Not quite the same animal.

Mis representing? Jeep must be doing the same thing ...

Jeep Specs specifically say:
"2.8-Liter Turbo Diesel Engine Package"

How is that misrepresenting? It's either turbo or it's not. A horse is a horse of course.

That may well be the case (Jeep lists as a turbo diesel). I admit error there.

I still stand by the fact that throwing a non-jeep diesel emblem on your KJ is like a Japanese vehicle throwing a v-tec logo on a toyota. It's cheezy.

You posted for opinions, and got one. Let's agree to disagree.

Hmm, I did some looking around, and you're right, there really aren't a lot of Diesel emblems to pick from.

Unless of course you want this 6.5L Diesel Logo :-P

The CRD is a Turbo Diesel with a turbo.

I looked into a Decal, but I wanted red. And red on black with a decal you can't really see. So I decided if I wanted it to look half decent I would have to go with an actual emblem.

I was going to go with a Cummins Turbo Diesel emblem, but I would have had to mod the emblem to take the "Cummins" portion off. I didn't really want to do that.

The CRD Liberty is a turbo diesel. Check the user manual for the chart that dictates cool down times for the turbo in the diesel engine based on driving usage for that particular trip. It's a pain to remember to let this sucker cool down.

The turbo diesel emblem looks good and is dead on appropriate. I'm leaning more toward a front windshield decal but instead of the same old "It's A Jeep Thing ... You Wouldn't Understand" I would probably have one custom made to say "Diesel Power ... It's A Jeep Thing."

Speaking of emblems and windshield decals. Do the windshield wipers take decals off in environments with a lot of rain like here in the Midwest?

My girl friend had a decal on her windshield and hasn't had any problems with it coming off.

I like the idea for the diesel decal.

I honestly think the emblem rocks the party...

the red on black is sharp, the red ties in with the tail lights, and the lettering looks good and sporty, not extreme.

I don't think it's Japanese vehicle at all, I don't see the problem with puting a decal that is acurate of the vehicle on the vehicle, and i know that it is not the same thing as puting a v-teck sticker on a non-v-teck equiped car. :?

why would this be any different than our "liberty" and "jeep" decals? because it looks cooler. 8)

I think it looks great, absolutely no mis-representation there. It's a turbo diesel logo on a turbo diesel vehicle!!!

Rangler? 3.6L KJ? two vehicles i've never heard of.

MY liberty's got a 3.7L, and I've seen Wranglers.

What is a turbo in a sense? The Liberty CRD has a TURBO CHARGER (delivers air), the common rail you speak of is the fuel delivery system!!! I hope this clarifies the issue.
