Silicon boost hoses.

Samco doesnt make or sell a kit anywhere as far as I can tell.....

found the 0299 problem, leaking boost hose, showed up during the pressure test, is there a better final solution than just replacing it with new stock hoses?

what are you using to do a pressure test? just wondering because id like to do a boost leak test one of these days.

nitrile glove and quick disconnect air coupler.

The last recommendation was steel/Al tube with Si connectors (although I though Jinstall had a European source for Si hoses - I can't find it now)

The new hoses from the dealer are supposed to be more Oil resistant.

Ya I read all those posts, but didnt see anything about the euro source, I also checked for an aussie source but didnt find anything. For now a temp repair of a connector tube and some hose clamps, but a new hose will be in order, it would be nice to get a sillycon set with a nipple for a boost guage.

Just keep your temp repair and drill it,weld a nut and you have your boost port. A piece of pipe in your cac hoses won't effect anything. Why order a new hose? Unless it failed at one of the ends.

That's the page I remember - it's in German couldn't understand any of it

Samco only has generic hoses, we *could* take the same angle bends and with some short AL coupler pips and ALOT of hose clamps make a pipe.

Though at that point I dont think they would be a practical option, they would be expensive for all those individual pieces, hard to properly connect, and then have about a billion places to get boost leaks.

I contacted one company via email friday night that seemed supportive of making custom hoses, hopefull I will get a response from them within a few working days, if not Ill pester them again, I can understand not wanting to bother with some custom work, but at least take 2 seconds to email me and say no.

Minor note - silicon (Si) is an element, and is basically sand. Silicone (note the 'e') is the flexible stuff you want. It makes much better hoses.

Actually sand is Silicon dioxide - to get silicon out - typically react with carbon for SiC - then HCl to get SiCL3 and then decompose into polycrystaline Si and melt that to draw a crystal - 110 orientation for CMOS, 111 orientation for Bipolar....

I betting most here knew that but choose to use the symbol (Si) merely as a shortcut.

Then again, whats the different really between sand and breast implants?
