You got it backwards RL

I do all my own work on my Jeep - that's fun - it's not work.

Work is going to meetings where managers talk and talk and talk - and nothing real ever happens.

On my Jeep - I know I made a difference - I changed something - there was an effect - for better or worse - it mattered.

KJ'ers are the cheapest off-roaders there are. I know, I'm one of them. This, of course, is both a good and bad thing. Products for the KJ are few and far between. We basically have to make our own stuff or get a shop to do it for us, and then we expect to pay the lowest cost possible. Believe me, I know the value of money. But if you compare the cost of modding/lifting a KJ and modding/lifting another Jeep you'll see the differences right away.... even the FJ Cruiser OME lift is $720 compared to the AllJ's at $797. And this is a comparable apples to apples lift with one exception. R&D on the KJ was supported by KJ'ers whereas on the other lifts support was given by the manufacturer. Check the cost on that...

AllJ's has been the Vanguard in supplying mods for the KJ. In the rare instances where things have gone awry, from what I have heard, they have considered customer relations first over profit. I have no qualms giving my money to AllJ's in return for the best product currently available and the best customer service in the business. I would always consider them first for these reasons...

P.S. Prior to my current set-up, my $250 Daystar lift on two different KJ's (gas and CRD) served me just fine from the slickrock of Moab to the granite of Big bear and Arizona. In the end, spend what you are comfortable with. It's your Jeep.

Playing with 500lb springs like the CRD has is suicide. It's like bobbing for french fries in a fryer. It's one thing to be cheap, it's another thing to be stupid. These springs are tall, narrow and have an extremely high rating. Your just asking for trouble if you try to assemble these struts by yourself. Somethings should be left to the professionals, for safety reasons.

Oh yeah for sure! No way I'd try and compress the springs on my own. I've seen springs shoot through walls! That's why you take your struts to a shop (like I did) and pay $40 for them to use it on their fancy wall-mount machine and give you the struts back in 30 minutes.
