I've already posted this over on JKJ, but I also wanted to put it over here for some more exposure. I am trying to plan out a Mogollon Rim/FR300 trip in September. It will either be on the 8th or the 22nd as of right now so as not to conflict with other plans. It is nothing extreme at all, but the temps are cooler and there are quite a few side trails (the legal ones, not quad tracks) to explore. There are also a few lakes up there.

Here is the USFS summary:
http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/coconino/recreation/mog_rim/rim-road-scenic.shtml

*Updated: The trip will be on September 8 and we will be meeting in Payson.

Man I hate coaching. I can never do stuff on weekends....

I did have plans to go up that way this weekend, but it fell through at the last minute. I was going to go fishing and camping at Knoll Lake.

Although the response over here has not exactly been overwhelming, there are 7 of us planned so far over on JKJ. The final itinerary is posted at http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33430 if anyone is interested.

Oh, and crimsonfox, we are going up not this weekend, but two weeks from tomorrow, so if you are able to get up there then, we could definitely meet up with you.

I'd love to try. Bad thing is I coach a 12u softball team and we practice on Saturdays.

I'll keep watching. I'm sure something will come up on a weekend I can get away.
