Does anybody have tried this configuration for your gears??
I'm thinking on this config:

US gears 4.56 (front, rear of course)
Rear Powertrax no-slip for Trac-Loc
Front Detroit TrueTrac

Do you know if there are some limitation to install the rear locker/front LSD with that set of gears?
Is there some risk to damage something?

Thanks for any comment on this

4:10 gears are the highest you can go in the D30A. Sorry.

Yep the lowest gears you can put in KJ are 4.10's,the front Dana30A gear sets have a longer pinion then regular Dana30's so those gear sets will not work.

Then I don't understand why RRO sell those 4.56 the KJ?!?! :?

With this 4.10 do you think I can have problems with the True Trac in the front or there is no problem with that :?:

Thanks a lot for the info guys!!!!

They don't have any gears at all that fit the front of the KJ. Had my front end torn apart for 3 weeks while they kept sending me different sets. They not only stopped claiming to have someone with a KJ and 4.10 gears that worked there, but stopped claiming to have anyone who even owned a KJ through the course of my discussions with them. We put in the front diff from a low milage 4 cyl to get the 4.10's in mine. They have known for years that the gears they sell for the front don't fit.

If they said that, I'd be in Vegas making bets that it wouldn't rise!

I guess the RRO website isn't our favorite then? LOL. I notice they don't mention any gear changes to their shop Liberty.

What are the factory gears that come on Liberty?
If I have bigger tires do I have to increase the ratio or dercrease the ratio?

Most KJ's come with 3.73 gears, the 4-cylinder gassers came with 4.10's,and some of the newer 6 speed KJ's have 3.55's.You don't have to change gears but you will notice a drop in performance and mpg's.When going to bigger tires(heavier) you want to go to a lower gear(higher #),4.10's are a lower gear then 3.73's,to get back into the correct power range of the engine.

When I do my SFA swap I'm going to 5.13 gears,a little lower then I should(4.88's would be perfect) but it will help out with the mpg's around town, just won't be able to go as fast on the highway.

Reider Racing can get teh 4.10s for the front direct from Dana. Same as the dealer gears that come in the 4cyl, but a whole lot cheaper.

www.reiderracing.com

You have to call them. I got mine from them and have no problems at all.

I really like being geared a little lower. The 4.10's with my 29.5" 245/65R17's works out great. With the other modifications, I have huge power up to about 90 mph, and top out 3rd around 130 mph. It tows a few thousand pound enclosed trailer bigger than it through KY hills with no problems.

A little advice for making the Libby a lot more fun to drive...

Lower the gearing, upgrade the torque converter, put in a shift kit, flash the computer and delete the torque management, upgrade the throttle body, put in a good drop in air filter, and replace your muffler. Change the plugs, clean the injectors, and change all your fluids with good synthetic. You will have spent some money, but everyone will think you've got a 4.7 under the hood. 8)
