Are you running the EHM? If yes, since how many miles?

No, ORM only. Thinking about an EHM setup.

I'd be in for a set of intercooler hoses in silicon.

I knew I just read about this problem.

It happened on the way home from work today @ 41,000 miles. Spent a half hour on the phone with the stealership trying to find the right part. In the event yours can't find it tell them the part is in the 'Cooling System' section under '150 - Charge Air Cooler' of their catalog.

Mine split the hose from the turbo to the intercooler sounded like I was driving a vacuum cleaner every time the turbo spooled up. Don't know if I should have driven it at that point but I just got off the freeway and was only 4 miles from home so I just finished the trip.

In any case to answer the previous questions here's the formal names and part numbers:
Turbo-to-Intercooler: "Charge Air Cooler Inlet Hose" - 55037729AC (original) replaced by 55038729AA (oil resistant?) $88
Intercooler-to-Intake: "Charge Air Cooler Outlet Hose" - 55037730AC $?? Didn't order that since I didn't need it - perhaps I should have?!?

He faxed me the part blow up from their online catalog to make sure we ordered the right part. It will take 2 days to get it so I guess I'll be driving the TJ to work for a couple days (@15 mpg and 3.25/gal for unleaded - ouch!)

BTW Just filled it with B99 for the first time on Saturday. (It only took 14 gallons so we netted ~B75 in the tank.) Needless to say my first thought on hearing the noise was: "Oh #$@&, what did that fuel do?!?"

Thanks Sam...didn't see the new thread. Sounds like I don't need to bother the folks at Samco - though I just might to get in on the initial production run.

OK, right now I replace the broken gauge, how???, OK I tell you my brother has an autopart and he called here in PR for an autopart of Mopar parts, the cost of the gauge???, $290!!!!!, and it need to be ordered. OK I solve the problem using the same gauge without and end thas was broken. I bought in a turbo store here, a hose for Turbos that applied to our turbo, and goes to a muffler shop, and made a metal tube that need to be inserted between the hose and the part of the gauge that was good and VOILA!!!, ($48 in total). Right now I finished to test the CRD, and the power is back again, runs a lot better, BUT the A/C still giving me problems, the vents in the dash still sleeping. WHAT I NEED TO CHECK RIGHT NOW????, another filtration?? Another hose??, Tha vacuum pump???. As a matter or fact, I made a full aceleration of the CRD and it doesn't past of 4,000 rpm at full trottle!!!, is this normal???, The CRD is stock, I mean no Cummins In Tank Pump, beside that it feels pretty normal with no hesitation.

Thanks

Luis.

I stumbled across this news bulletin: http://www2.dupont.com/Automotive/en_US ... 61115.html apparently they use this award-winning resonator in Nitro 2.8 turbo diesel. I wonder if we can make use of it?

That resonator does not look high-flow. Why would anyone want to get rid of turbo whine anyway?

That one goes first because of the oil from the CCV.

Sam, mine apparently has a small crack in it that is not leaking, so says the dealer ( personally I think it is just oozing oil from the CCV). I will see if they need it for warranty claim or if they will give me the old one if that would work for you.

I've just noticed that my CAC hose from the turbo is moist with what appears to be the same dirty crap that comes out of the CCV.

Is this normal, this is the hose with the orange inner, Jeep has 76K ( kilo's)
with original hoses and only fitted the EHM at about 71K.

It is normal to have some oooze/seep past the hose clamp. I would take it off, clean it up good, and put it back on, then look to see if your oil is oozing past the clamp, or through the wall of the hose, if its through the wall of the hose then it may be time to get a new silicon set.

8-1-2011 enroute from Snyder, Texas to Lake Joe Pool Grand Prarie,Texas while pulling a camping trailer 5000lbs "pow" goes the caac hose intercooler to intake about a 4" split needless to say no turbo action was happening for the next 75 miles as we had to make it somehwere. Luckily Alington Dodge had the hose $144.07 no lubricant used at the sale "ouch". Whats worse is I had to practically show the guy how to find the part. Guys is it just me or should these clowns know how to look up the parts and, also should the dealerships not carry a set of hoses in stock. If Gates would make them then Oreilys would carry them problem solved but they don't so we have to go OE or SAMCO USA dealers. Please gimme some ideas on the SAMCOs as I still need to buy the other hose. Thanks (2006 CRD Sport 4x4 renegade light bar, V-6 air box with K&N Filter, Magnaflow 2 1/2 catback, hollowcat, airline filter ccv mod.

If you are looking to buy Samcos see http://www.boostcontroller.com/index.php?category=328 but since you already have a new OEM hose which is presumably the decent 2n gen version you may be better off getting the other OEM hose as I think the Samcos only come in pairs but then again you might call Boost Controller and ask if they will sell just the one you need.
