After two years of offroading, my wife finally noticed some pinstriping and asked, "Did somebody key our Liberty"?

I simply said, "Trail rash from the woods. It comes with the territory. It can be buffed out."

She carried groceries into the house. That was the end of the conversation.

When scratches actually penetrate the actual paint, then I'll care. Until then, I'll continue to show folks that yes, this Liberty is made to play amongst the trees.

If your really don't want these custom racing stripes going down the sides of your KJ? You might consider a custom exoskeleton, a few month back Xtreme 4x4 on SPIKE TV took 2 Toyota Land Cruiser's one the new '07 FJ and a 85 they did some suspencion mod but getting to the point the welded up a tube exoskeleton to protect it off road. But then the best part it was removable. So you just put it on for off roading then when you get home unbolt it lift it off and your back to your daily driver. You can have the nice paint job and still get up close and personal with back woods.

Cowdog, i had scratches just like those but not nearly as many. Took 'em right out with a buffer and Meg's Scratch X.

Both of my rockers are pretty bad. Guess thats what I get for not buying rock rails....

My passengers side has a long dented streak where the paint cracked off and bare metal is exposed. And it has started rusting... Ah well...it's a Jeep. I have fun wheeling it...

Off-Road pinstriping, trail rash, or whatever you choose to call it, is nothing more than "Character Lines" that give testamony to the fact that your Jeep does get wheeled, and adds a certain uniqueness to your vehecle when you pull up beside those "Bling-Bling Jeeps" that don't have any.

Unique? The thing is anyone can go out and scratch the hell out of a car, look at any junk yard or in any run down city. On the other hand, not everyone can have a mar free ride. JMO, different stokes for different folks...no offence meant.

Best to not wheel it then... its gonna get scratches. After a while, you can't keep up with buffing them out. Or sometimes, the scratches
are too deep. You gotta have a good outlook about them, or maybe wheelin' isn't for you

Oh, I know. I have taken a trail before, I don't wheel hard, and got a few scratches that buffed out. Nothing wrong with it, just saying scratches arn't very unique :). I use my rig mainly for the winters here.

Sometimes it doesn't matter. I thought that someone keyed my jeep. Then I caught my 3 year old son+rock+jeep "drawing" on the other side a few days later. So I guess my ride got punked instead of pimped. :D
