Dear CRD Owners,

It is obvious from your emails that there is a major problem with the stock Turbo hoses on the Jeep CRD, We are willing to manufacture a kit for the Jeep if someone can supply us with a set of stock hoses or O/E part numbers.

Production would take around 4~6 weeks after we receive the hoses; this is due to the processes involved with manufacturing the tooling.

Please can you also tell me if there is call for the coolant kit on this vehicle to be made by Samco Sport?

I look forward to your thoughts and suggestions.

Best regards,

Mark Hale.

YES!!! I want blue ones! :D LK

Got an email back.

Quote:
Sam,.

Thanks for the reply. I can't say how many until I have the samples, but it
is usually around 12-15 kits. I'm not sure if the Jeep Liberty is the same
as the Jeep Cherokee that we get in the UK/Europe, but if it is then we will
of course sell it worldwide.

Best Regards
Paul

I called the dealer, heres what I got its $72.19 for the outlet hose and $66 for the inlet hose. Im thinking thats a reasonable price to get a set for them to get tooling off of if we have to buy em, though I would rather they purchase them.

Also, I am sending him a reply with the part numbers:

55038729AA - Inlet CAC - $66(shop price)
55037730AD - Outlet CAC - $72.19(shop price)

Good work people! This may end up happening!

Sam,

Just to give you a final update, here is the last e-mail I received today:

Quote:
Hello Scott,

I am wondering if the UK version would use the same hoses as the L/H Drive versions, maybe you could get the O/E part numbers to me then I could check them with Jeep here in the U.K?

I would need a new set of hoses for the tooling or we could back engineer any problems into our kits which would not be good.

I am about to finish work here for the day (17:00 Hrs) so I will reply to any more emails tomorrow.

Best Regards,
Mark.

Interesting, I am talking to a guy named Paul Hinder, so there appears to be two people working on this case. In my reply I told him that we should only use new hoses as used ones could be deformed or otherwise not fit correctly.
(interesting that that guy then said that to you too)

Who is our member in germany? Im hoping he could grab the part Numbers from a local dealer to compare em to what I got today.(and maybe off a Euro Jeep)

Also I noticed the part numbers are different on the old hoses, CATCRD was here today and I saw he original hoses had a slightly different part number on em, this weekend Ill take a look at the old mans Jeep and see what his are, but maybe someone can pull off a clamp and tell me what theirs are.

heres what I mean:

55037730AD - Outlet CAC - AUD$429

Ed, thanks a bunch, wow thats a helluva markup! Hopefully we will be able to get these made, though if in the future you need any parts that arent pressed for time Im betting I can get them for about a 1/5 of what they may cost you.

$461AUD = $377USD! WOW!

Ill pass those part numbers along to the guy I have been talking to. This really helps, they had expressed concern that the RHD parts would be different.

Soooooo exciting!

Thanks for the offer. I'll hold you to it one day
Mate, the only thing different in RHD is the steering wheel.
I mean even the bloody hood/bonnet release is on the passenger (left) kick panel. So I gotta get out, walk to the otherside of the car just to pop the bonnet/hood.
(Slight exageration/generalisation there LOL)

FYI

I paid $150 for the Return hose this week. Seems a little steep, no? ( Still cheaper than Oz, however!).

When my dad bought the new one last week he paid $125, the first dealer I called, who I buy all my parts from and has good prices(IMO), told me $95 for the hose at list, my shop price was 72.19.

The second dealer I called today told me $125.

Sounds like there is ALOT of room for variation in price, I get the feeling my dealer has better pricing on parts than most, and with my shop discount I get a pretty fair price.

rape. How does the law down under allow that? You can't tell me it takes that much money to get the hose to Oz. I used to live on an island and stuff was expensive, but not THAT expensive.

No kidding, even after conversion thats still like $370 USD.

Silicon boost hoses would probably be a big sellar for guys wanting to replace em down there.

hmm time to find the AUS jeep site I post on infrequently and see what they have to say

hmmmmmm

I am. I have to race all weekend so the earliest I could do it is Monday. No Labor Day in Germany. Someone also needs to ask them about the tap nipple that is in the ISA Racing listing that is not on their website.

Poor sensored word, having to race all weekend!

Monday would be just fine I'm sure. I right there with you on the tap nipple, it was going to be the next thing I asked about from them. As soon as you get the part numbers send em to me so I can pass them along to Paul, you could email them in as well, though I definitely want to pass them along to Paul since I have been in communication entirely with him and have not yet talked to this mark fellow.

It would be good if you could read the numbers off the hose on an actual vehicle and also get the numbers the dealer lists for them.

Thanks man!

Sorry I just got online. Been busy and I did get to the dealer but they were too busy to look up the part# for me. They are real busy as half their workforce is out sick. I will continue to work on it.

I know an engineer at Chrysler pretty well. He looked these part numbers up for me and they are released the same for all applications and for all markets and body styles, RHD & LHD.
