Hi...I have been thinking that maybe there is too much flow from the regulator to the intake. I plan to put a restriction in the hose and monitor the intake hose for oil. Any suggestions??
LK :?

The vent steams a bit but doesnt get out of control er nothing.....
Interesting enough my VW TDI looks like it has a heater b4 the oil gets to the intake to the turbo, the Jeep CRD does not appear to have this. I capped off the old hose w/ a wine cork worked great!

Its a dual oil filter system, Main filter does the usual thing, then theres a bypass filter that filters to 2microns virualy eliminating the diesel soot in the oil system.

One cannot just simply run the 2micron on its own as the flow rate would be too low for the heads to lube, and the oil pressure would be too high and break somthing. So the majority of the oil flows through the main filter and about 10% circulates through the bypass. All oil cycles through main filter about ever other minute er so, all the oil cycles through the bypass every 10min er so. Supposed to be really good for a diesel motor to have....

Oil "can" last very much longer than normal up to 60K miles. Im about to hit 1K on the oil and the bypass and will be doing an analysis on the oil this next week just to make sure everything is running ok. Oil pressure has stayed normal so far too.

though i was hoping the kit would get the "black" out of the oil,, it doesnt =( tho i can only assume its doing something, will quantify that at the end of the week when the analysis comes back.

Did you get results from an oil analysis yet?

Here's the setup I use on my VW Golf TDI:

http://home.nc.rr.com/aljohnson/_sgg/m3m1_1.htm

It's economical, and looks like it takes up about as much room as the ProVent, but I haven't investigated it any further for the CRD yet.

OMG look at the last pic on that page- the intake manifold after 110,000 miles! I'm glad I did the ProVent..

Bump!

I'm very curious about the Amsoil bypass filter. Which kit? Any oil analysis results?

I'm curious about the Amsoil Bypass Kit as well.
Which one did you install and how did you shoehorn it into that location?
