Just tell him the higher you lift it the slower you'll have to go. :D

Haha that's the exact thing I told him a few days ago. My whole argument was: Well Dad, Not only will it look cooler (while still looking civilized), but also I will have to drive slower. Plus you and Mom will have the added re-assurance that I will make it to school safely every day in the winter. What more could you ask for!?

His response: Why don't you just drive slower now? I'm pretty sure you'll make it to school anyway in the winter

haha .. so hopefully the dealer will have something nice to say .. otherwise it looks like I'll be lobbying for a new exhaust system or stereo .. ANYThing to make it different.

Well, good luck to you. I talked to the service manager here before I lifted it. He actually rode around with me while we talked about different types of lifts and how high I could go. So it's very possible that your dealer could be open to the idea as well. Of course, here in Colorado lifting Jeeps is very common.

Just wondering...do the Rubicon wheels offer anything non-cosmetic that I may not be getting from the alloy customs that came on my '05 Sport?

They have more offset and it is an 8" rim vs. the stock 7". So it widens your track a bit and moves the tire off the swaybar at full lock.

Thanks :D

Lifted Jeeps are not as common around here (Ohio being more or less flat), although you do see the occassional lifted Cherokee. There is a lifted 95'ish cherokee in my town that says "Cowboy Up" on the windshield that makes me want to vomit every time I see it.

Haha oh well .. hopefully my dealer is as "jeep friendly" as yours!

Hey Auggy, I too work for an Insurance Company...tell your dad how much safer your liberty would be with a Powertrax in the rear end....no spinning tires... I'm sure he would want his son to be in a really safe SUV.

Tires are 245/75/16 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's.

Wheels are stock from the Rubicon.

And I'm hoping that they're going to say that they think it's a great idea!

Haha yeah jcsn04kj .. I think he would put that under the category of "I don't want you to heavily modify my car"

TokyoJoe has the Rusty's coil lift. LibertyN8 also posted a picture of the Rusty's coil lift (his cousins CRD I believe). The other two are both Frankenlifts.

I know my pictures don't have the Moab wheels in them but I do have a Daystar 2.5" lift installed by a dealer in AL and the 245/75 MT/Rs. The dealer said that they would install the lift and still cover everything under the warrantee because the lift wasn't a "suspension-modifying lift"

Alright well I talked to the guys at the dealership today and said that it would void the suspension warrenty and would void the entire warrenty if the breakover angle is changed by the modifications. Would it be?

Did you? If you had, you'd know that's BS. Try showing the guys at the dealership that and see if maybe they change their minds.

Yeah I read it, but it applies to security systems (at least according to the versions that I saw), not modifying suspension. Would the breakover angle be changed?
