Just because the Commander and KJ got a little banged up on the trail doesn't mean it didn't accomplish the task. Many highly modified rigs go through those trails and end up with as much or even more trail rash. Just goes to show you what a good driver and a capable vehicle can really do. I love to see that Commander all tore up, gives it character on top of its ugly looks. Jeep still makes good vehicles.

As far as the Liberty gaining respect..

back when it came out, I owned a CJ7. swore to God I'd never own one of those "piles of crap".

buddy of mine called me today (salesman, as much as y'all hate 'em  ), said "we got a real nice 02 Liberty wtih 50,000 miles on it, come look at it, TRUST ME"

I get there...has Cooper MT's and is otherwise stock. we go on an "extended" test drive. his sales manager isn't too happy, but i wash it, with a big grin on my face.

I sign on it tomorrow:D

I'm not sure if I find that too funny. I look at the Cherokee as being a more capable rig then the Wrangler .......
