So here is the deal, when I get to 45 mph I can hear humming. Its not loud but I can still tell its there. The humming quits at about 50 mhp. Any ideas what it could be? Thanks guys.

Been through any thick mud lately? Could be some on the driveline causing it to be unbalanced, maybe.

Check your rear differential for water. Now.

Maybe tread separation on a tire?

added anything lately to the exterior that would be causing hum/whistle type sound? Nothing under neath that is rubbing somewhere? Not sure about tread coming apart, that would be more all the time ...maybe???? I guess replace the muffler with a louder one or new speakers so you can crank it up!

No didnt add anything and did check the tires while I was at lunch and they looked normal to me. The humming doesn't really bother me that much what bothers me is if it was there before I got an alignment or not. Could it be something to do with alignment?

You know, my KJ did that from day one. 45-50mph only under power. If his rear end was going bad, wouldn't it make noise at any speed? I'd guess it probably has something to do with driveline angles. I saw people complaining about this on edmunds when I googled it in '05 (people on edmunds complain about everything though).

Now I did get it to stop. That required a Frankenlift and some MT/Rs. The whole KJ hums at all speeds now, kinda relaxing
