Whoa!
Where is this thing and how do I disable it!
I live in FL!

It's on the right side of the engine with an clutch. I think in the service manual it's not always on as stated. I think it's the a/c that runs in most heater settings. I will look it up in the manual when I gea a chance.

Ok, I checked this morning when I got to work. The clutch on the heater
thing wasn't activated. Even when I turned the heater dial all the way on.
Turning the A/C on had no effect either.
So now I wonder, under what conditions does it turn on? Does it go by
ambient air or coolant temp?

I'm pretty sure that the A/C compressor is only ON when the button is
pressed. The only exception is when the vent dial is turned to one of the
defrost positions. Kind of annoying. There are times where I would like
air through the defrost vents without the A/C on.

There is a mod you can do to disable the A/C in any position. It's not too hard.

I think the viscous heater won't come on at all unless ambient is below a certain temperature, then it's coolant temp based.

Start a new thread on the viscous heater. Someone on this forum does know the full poop on it....they won't find it on this thread. It comes on for defrost, as a supplimental heat, and certain other AC settings. I think it is clutched off otherwise. It is in the manual, also.

I'm too darn lazy to look...got a baby coming in couple of days and nobody is sleeping..
