OME 2" Lift on my CRD

This is the lift parts that you can buy separate...$793.00 plus shipping. This comes unassembled and you use the stock hardware...not a problem whatsoever. You just have to buy or make a small 2" bracket to remount the rear brake line. I just wanted some of ya'll to know that you don't have to go the $1100.00 route, you don't have to ship back your cores and it works just fine. Man it drives so smooth! Without the extra spacer in the front strut you get 2" of lift and the CV Axles are LEVEL! Plenty of space for the UCA to droop...and I don't think I will need Als UCA's.

PS: I bought this one from rs4mtnitro (5 months old) since he traded his KJ in for a Chevy Truck. I paid $800.00 shipped so I figured it helped him out and I saved the shipping costs.

Wow, that is great to hear. Now if I can get my wife to stop spending on the house in Washington or maybe I just buy it and tell her she spent it.

Been contemplating doing the same thing... I want to get a little more ground clearance and better shocks/springs but don't really care about wedging in giant meat in the wheel-wells.... Do you happen to have a list of the items actually purchased (or did someone else already compose that in a post... been on vacation for 12 days...) ?

OME132L Long Travel Shocks: $84.99 each
(SORRY...OME132L SHOCKS OUT OF STOCK UNTIL Mid-OCTOBER - use Rancho 17004 shocks instead - $65 each)
Rear Bump Stops: $25 pr

For the above lift, you would reuse your stock top plates, isolators and hardware.
This kit comes un-assembled.

I have 29.84" tires on there now...235/75/16s...the front to rear wheelwell is still tight when stuffed

Hard to tell from the pic...will get better with camera later...but these actually look pretty good on there as it sits. They are only about 3# heavier per tire than stock, they fit on a stock CRD so you can get the tires "first" and then the lift, you don't need to hammer any pinch weld which you would most likely have to do with 245/75/16s, the speedo is only about 2% off with these and they are not going to cause a huge decrease in mpg. I have tried to "Build" this without adding much weight...[Aluminum Skids (engine/tranny-transfercase/fuel) ...75#]...[Step Sliders...50#]...[5 Tires...15#]...for a total of just 165# added weight. The lift parts probably didn't add much to the mix when it comes to weight. I am thinking about removing the rear seat and building a flat floor in the near future...will save a bit of weight and I never really use the rear seats anyway.

Did you assemble the front struts yourself? I'm wondering how much stroke is required to compress the springs enough for assembly. We have a hydraulic press at work which would have plenty of force, but might lack the stroke. BTW the lift looks good. I want to do the same thing - all OME.

Used a wall mounted spring compressor...not bad at all since they stopped adding the extra Daystar puc...which put the lift at the limit and made it very stiff. You do have to compress the springs about 4" or so to take apart and/or put together.

Here are the numbers:

Total lift gained: 3" (don't be alarmed)...measured 48" from the ground to the bottom of the driverside mirror...just an easy way to get an idea

Tires added .25"...the springs got rid of the prelowered KJ effect .45"...the springs added 2.3" or so...Net 3"
