t2,
just curious, since I am somewhat in the surrounding area, what dealer do you take your jeep for service?
This was Heritage in Owens Mills. I'm not slamming the tech. He was a very pleasent fellow to speak with (he liked to talk about the CRD and his work in general) and tried to be very helpful. He also listened intently to what I had to say, especially to the things that I've repeated from the forums. He didn't discount you folks, or myself out of hand, like others have. He was respectful of my opinions and comments. He seems like a guy who is interested in learning all that he can, and doesn't just discount things out of hand. I may use his services again and see how it goes.
I just started going to Heritage, and so far I would give them good marks. I was going to Ourisman, which is where I bought the vehicle. I don't care for Ourisman's service writers. In fact I got into it with one of them and I've never been back. The service writter that I got into it with tried to claim that either the local independent mechanic I was taking the CRD to, or I myself had cause the issue with the fuel filter head leaking fuel (and almost causing the fire). Based on his assumptions he was going to see to it that it wasn't covered under warranty. I told this guy that he was an booty and told him to stick his assumptions. I then called Heritage and they told me that they would take care of it (under warranty), no questions asked. Ourisman also makes it difficult to talk to the diesel tech that's working on your vehicle. Heritage makes them readilly available ("Sure go on back, he's right around the corner at the second bay on the right.")
