Those are incredible yes I'm sure they are heavy but you get what you pay for the only additional thing I would like to see are a step tube like the Super Skinkers. They do look bullet Proof.

Hey guys! I've been telling you I had a cool dealership! I've been out of town and left it over the week. I just got in to pick it up this morning as they had to finish the sliders up and put on AlJs upper control arms. I am totally pumped cause they look really trick and I can't wait to use them in this upcoming Jambo in Arkansas this month!
As I've said many times before, I want my "Rubigade" to look good and stout but not too modded. I thought about doing rails something like this for a while and talked with them about the heft and price and how to mount 'em. Then after I saw Screamin Lizard's skills, I quit talking and anted up. I knew they could do it. Ideas are only that if you can't make 'em real and they can! Really, they turned out better than I'd hoped. Just excellent craftsmanship and build quality all around and you're right... you could lift this thing up by them. That's sort of the point too, isn't it?
Ok, to answer some of the questions: Screamin Lizard is a shop that has been around a while, they aren't trying to copy Marty or his Rock Lizard name. I don't think they'd ever heard of him till a few weeks ago when I told them of this site. Weight? These things are STOUT but I really think they wiegh between 50 to 60 lbs each as far as I can tell. I helped him lay 'em out on the Jeep then take them off for welding. They were heavy but not too heavy. Because they are located so centrally, the added weight is dispersed over all four corners, not just one end or the other so their weight doesn't effect your height at all. The money? Well, I'd be doing SL a disservice if I told you that! They are definitely more than what's on the market now but just look at them!!! You get what you pay for. Another cool and intended byproduct is the fact that we removed the factory Renegade style sliders and the plastic pinch weld molding/cover and installed these. This adds about 2 or so inches of rocker clearance before they touch. Also, they slide from the factory skids to the rocker. No mounting brackets to get hung up on. It sort of looks like a boat from the two sides in.
I do agree that we could add a step or extended "bar" of sorts to them for door protection and stuff but that would take away from the "clean" look... until you bury a rock in your door of course. But I don't drive like that usually. Ask SL to put a number on them for you. They will. You could also go with lighter weight material but I chose NOT to. Just for me. I'll get some pics on in a day or so. They are really awesome!
I'll also put some pics up after the Jambo... you know, when I scratch them up real good!

I don't see a way to protect the doors. There are times I have come awfully close to hitting the doors down there. I am going to add RL's "super" to my Skinks when I have the money. That will keep the rocks, stumps, and trees a bit further from the door when I am leaning.

Those look awesome, but on our trails, the doors are at risk. Landing on those while tilted will put you extremely close to the lower part of the door. Bars keep things a few inches further away from the door.

Just my observation. I do like them though. Just not for me and the trails in Colorado.

[hijack] I'm going to do the same thing when I get back as part of my "bi-annual, post deployment, bulk purchase." [/hijack]

My wife said, I thought you were getting something done to your Jeep? I said I did, see. She said where? Cooler still...

Looks really good! I have to agree with Tokyojoe though. Do you loose any clearence with those? I have the Mopar rails (crap) and I hate the fact that I have to loose clearence for the protection.

it looks like you actually gained clearence.. you took off the round plastic piece on the rocker right?? if that's the case.. you just made that metal.. and dont have to put your rails under the rocker..because they are the rocker. awesome idea and it looks great!

Those things look awesome but I would have definitely added a step. They are Super rock rail/skid plates. You have to drill some holes for drainage or you'll end up collecting water and premature rust.

They are not sealed at the ends so they will not collect and hold water. If they do collect some mud at times, I can easily get behind there with a water hose and clean it out. They did infact gain clearance by a couple of inches because I took of the factory rails (1.5 inch dia.) which gave me two inches of clearance (1.5 inch rail plus about a half an inch of gap between that and the plastic) then we actually ran the primary tube frame along the groove of the rocker and the pinch weld. So overall, I think there's about 2.5 to 3 inches of added clearance. We probably will add a step bar sooner or later but this is good for now.

I love them. They have the skid running to and covering the "frame" and no attaching points to get hung up on AND best yet is they sit higher than others on the market. While I love my Boulderbars and they have saved me Thousands of dollars in repair costs, you also lose about 2" of rocker clearance w/ the bars that hang down on the sides. The only thing they need for wheeling out here in the rocks are a short extension sticking out to pivot on.

I need to see a set made for the early models but w/ the pivot bar and if they look as clean i will be wanting some ASAP. (or maybe I just need to get my butt in the garage and break out the welder?)
