Been lurking here a few weeks now - just got an 05 Liberty CRD Limited w/LSD and registered it in CA. Planning on a Frankenlift II Premium in a few weeks, and ordered up some Step Skinks for rocker protection and so I can access my Maggiolina rooftop tent and rack. I live in the desert between the Sierra Nevada and Death Valley. To go anywhere is a long way.

So - the big question that I've been deliberating on after searching and reading the forum here is tire size. I want decent ground clearance, NO rubbing with minor clearancing, and very importantly decent mpg. The 235/75R16 seems a good choice/compromise.

I like the BFG A/T KO mainly because I've experienced no sidewall issues with them in the last five years on my previous rig. BUT, they are not available in this size.

So, do I go up another size (245/75R15) in the BFG, or get something different and unknown to me like the Firestone Destination A/T? How much power/mpg am I going to lose by going up another 3/4 inch in diameter? And is there anything out there that compares to the BFG for sidewall burliness?

Thanks for any help.

I would go with the 245-75X16s good all around size and should fit with not too many problems, jjst pound down the pinch weld maybe a little trimming in the front and should be good to go! Seems to work well for a lot of people

Just to give you an idea...I have the OME lift with 235/75/16s and it adds 3" total...ie. the bottom of your outside mirror will be 3" higher than it is now. The 235/75/16s mean you don't have to do ANY trimming/pounding/adjusting at all.
