I've put the Astra up for sale on line tonight. I'm planning on getting an XJ, preferably lifted & locked +++. I like one in the for sale section of AJOR but it may not be there when I'm ready.

Well it kind of goes like this.

Not enough room in the KJ for hol's & Karen (wife) want's something bigger/larger. So we've tested a few Crusers & Prados which we/she likes. Problem is cost, they just arn't cheap. So we thought sell the Astra & get me an XJ to build or already have mods on it. Then the sad part would be trade the KJ   for a Prado etc... don't get me wrong, it's not like this was easy for me to consider. There was a KJ in the Toyota yard & I just looked at it all the time, thinking what a waste.

The good new's is, I now don't have to think about letting my baby go at all (which means I can still dream of the 4" or 6" lift that will one day help my KJ rise up :D ). While searching XJ's I did a search on Grand Cherokees around the 2000 & 2001 year range. They are real cheap compared to a Cruser & Prado. Heck an early 90's model Prado is more than a 2000 model Grand. I've seen a few Limited's that are in the teens & look great.

So Karen will get her larger car (Jeep) that will hold everything we need for a holiday & I get the KJ as my daily driver :D :D :D . can you see me smiling :D

Only problem now is someone must buy my Astra.

We had a big talk at home on Wed night about all this & I was really sad to think the KJ may have to go. Especially as I've got some LARGE LOSTKJ widow decal's on order from Pix & an other decal that I will post when it arrives 8) .

So I hope that explains it, hmmmm a 2 Jeep family. That sounds good.

Glad to see you came to your senses and stoped thinking that "T" word. A grand will give you about the same room as a prado.

When our 2.5CRD was in for a routine service at Adrien Brien Jeep in Adelaide, they lent us a V8 WJ for the day. We managed to run it out of petrol in the middle of the Adelaide CBD because we could not believe that the fuel gauge needle could travel so fast towards 'Empty'.

Be Warned! Great vehicle, but the V8 fuel consumption - wow!

Thanks for the heads up Chris, problem solved.

I just bought a 2001 Mitsubishi Pajero, Karen didn't like the room in the WJ + the one we looked at was crap. So she put her foot down like many women do & said get me a Pajero (all that in one day  ). Very nice rig, fully stock + a Mitsi bull bar. Loads of room & lots of leather.

We pick it up on Friday, the pics may not last as she will probably take it off line in the next week or so (or not).

Nice one Chris. Pity it's a petrol, but apart from that it should do you and Karen nicely.

Does this mean you'll be bringing both 4wds next time we have a Coffs weekend?

Thanks mate.
No I don't think the Mitsi will make it to the next LOST Coffs weekend. Can't see the need to take 2 rigs on a 6 hr drive each way.
