I just got invited to go down to MOAB tomorrow morning by one of my accounts who is sponsoring a trail ride during Jeep Jamboree. We are going on the trails listed in the subject (Fins & Things is a nite ride).
I know some of you have done some or all for these trails, I have not. Any advice would be appreciated. I will be the only KJ and I know there is one FJ going (everything else is modified Jeeps of other intials). I'd hate not to be able to keep up with at least the FJ.

Thanks partners.

I was at LOST Safari last year, but I didn't go on these trails cause Ted is racist against Utahans. :D

Rear locker?
Been driving awhile?
You'll probably be alright. The nice thing about Moab is that there is always a go around if you're not sure.

Since almost all of those trails are slick rock, traction shouldn't be a problem and I can't think of too many spots that are super difficult. We have gotten open/open diff'd KJ's through all of those trails.
Go for it!! Make us proud!

BTW, If you should encounter traction problems, Call ARBSeth when you get home.

Try Hell's Revenge first. You know right off the bat if you'll want to do the rest of the trails.

A lot of times the "trouble" isn't with traction --- it's with your mind :) You'll be having visions of certain death when all you see is the sky and the vehicle ahead of you just dropped off your FoV suddenly.

Spend the last 20 years driving the famed off road trails of Ft lauderdale, does that count?

I don't have a locker, but I do have the factory TCS & ESP.

Yeah, I made the mistake of checking out youtube vids. My heart was pounding just watching.

JL, yeah you should be fine on those trails. PS is probably the most difficult of the three. FnT, I thought was the easiest, but never ran it at night. That should make it a real blast. With the jamboree people there to help you spot, I would not worry too much.

PS if you see a big green grand there, tell that guy hello (Clint posted that he was up there this week, probably helping with the event).

have fun and take pics to show us.

Fins and Things is lots of fun...did it this past summer...lots of slick rock and some steep climbs and such...very fun trail though...

Here is a pic from the entrance to Fins and Things:

A couple of places have such steep ascents that you might want to make sure your spotter stands on his/her tippy toes so you don't fall off the fin.

Lots of great views from the trail too, especially with a storm in the distance...

Like the beginning of many disaster movies, there has been a last minute change of plans. We are meeting at 4:30 today to go on Hell's Revenge tonite instead of F n T.

Good luck. I am afraid I would never get the seat cushion out of my nethe regions after trying to run Hell's Revenge at night. Take pictures and let us know how it goes.

At night you wouldn't know how close you are to falling off. That could be comforting in a way right? Have a blast, take a big memory card and fresh batteries. Fresh underwear too.

I made it back in one piece. I was reading through the trailbook about Hell's Revenge before leaving. I grew concerned about doing this trail at nite because the book says like 20x how easy it is to get lost out there on this trail. How easy would it be to see some painted marks on the rock in the dark? This was concern 1

Our trail leader was not going to make it in time so the 2nd in command was going to take over. This was concern 2.

When I asked him if he's gone on the trail, "yeah a couple times", "never at nite". This was concern 3.

As I was trying to talk some sanity into the plan, some random dude in a Jeep Wrangler rolls up to us at the station: "Hey what's going on?" Next thing I know, this stranger is now the trail leader. This was concern 4.

Level 4 concern is right up there with hearing dualing banjos in my book.

We get up to the trail head for Hell's Revenge and start to air down. I hear our new friend say "I think we should go on Fins and Things, it's getting dark"

So we went on F & T instead. This guy recommended that I take the bypasses on pretty much every obstacle, but I took none. I have lots of pics thanks to the young lady in the Jeep in front of me (I gave her my camera). Unfortunately, I forgot my USB cable for my camera so I will not be able to put up pics until Sunday night. The guy behind me took video of me climbing one of the more difficult obstacles. It shows the TCS/ESP system in action.

Tomorrow, we are going on all the other trails (long day). Hell's Revenge, Poison Spider and one other I forget. Apparently, they are all conected somehow.

Hopefully, I will have another update tomorrow night.

Yeah, that's much better :) I remember a couple of "interesting" spots on Hell's Revenge that were challenging to do in daylight ...
