Any body have the lo-tek a-pillar gauge pod? I just ordered it and am going to put a trans temp gauge in there and planned on putting and oil pressure gauge in it also but the oil pressure senders look pretty big and dont know if it will fit down where the current oil pressure sender is. Does anybody have one with an oil pressure gauge mounted? If not what other gauges are you using?

i've looked at that before, very tight down by the oil filter. you could go with a mechanical gage to save space, but you will have to do some plumbing either way. i'm pretty sure you'd want to leave the factory sensor hooked up.

yeah i'm leaving the factory sensor. i have to do some plumbing to add a "tee". dont want a mechanical gauge becasue i dont want to run oil into the car. i'm gonna go with electrical gauge . i'll get it to work/fit.

Not sure how true this is, but I've heard that on late-model Chryslers, if you lose oil pressure the engine automatically shuts down, so yeah, you'd definitely wanna keep that there:)

keeping the sensor for that reason and so the oil light on the dash still works.

They also cause a rather large blindspot. I'm taking mine off and going back to the HC handle since the nitrous system is coming off with the lift. They do look pretty cool though. They light up green like the other illumination in the Jeep. Most people think it came that way. Of course, I do get the remarks that it has boobs when looking from the front. I had a definate need for them when it was racing, but still managed to blow it up. Here's what they look like.

Have you considered a scangauge? They monitor trans temp, oil temp and a huge list of other things. Plus they can read diagnostic codes and have trip computer as well. Doesn't look as cool as a gauge pillar but much more functional IMO. Would also save you all that plumbing as w/the scangauge you just plugin/un-plug.

Just a thought.

how do you get the gauge on that pillar to read trans temp? Does it hook to the computer?

Are you sure ?
When I looked seriously at the Scanguage 1, it didn't output trans temp. If it had, I would have gotten it.
Maybe the newer model added it ?

thats what i was thinking. i was really checking one out to see the functionality, but dont remember that it had any guage info on it, such as trans temp or oil.

thought it just pulled codes for ya and a trip od.

I dont know if it does trans temp. I knoe it doesn't do oil pressure. My EVIC does 75% of what the scangauge does. To pull codes i can just do the key on/off trick. :? Anyway just ordered some phantom gauges from summit; oil pressure and trans temp. I post some pics once the parts arrive and i get them installed. :D

I have a scanguage I, the II is more compact and you can change the back ground color. You are right it doesn't have a Trans Temp. Reading but it is great in so many ways, especialysince all you do is plug it in and set it where ever you want to see it easily.. Well worth the money  8)

Ok got the gauge pod the other day. Still didn't order the gauges yet. Cant make up my mind which ones to get. Was looking how hard it would be to install the sending unit for an oil pressure gauge and it looks to be a nightmare. Im definatly getting a trans fluid temp. Still need one more gauge was thinking a voltage gauge or a water temp guage. Thinking more along the lines of the volt gauge since the kj doesn't have one. Any thoughts?

Although i have praised the scan guage II , and I have the model I i can not give a greater praise to a gadget for the KJ since my purchase of the Model I, I have gotten better milage for no other reason then my monitoring the MPG of my Liberty
I could not give higher praise to a assecorie for my Liberty

I got a $149 group buy for us on the ScanGauge II that I posted here earlier. Also there is a new software version available that has more features that was recently introduced. Older ScanGauge II's can be upgraded by mailing them back to the manufacture.
