That's what I was thinking. The front skid is a seperate piece. The belly pan is just the crossmember/unibody stiffer with TCase and engine/tranny skids.

I'm not exactly sure why sales were low, but I do know what sales were over the last year, and what All J had into the skids. Even if sales are slow, it might be a worthy investment on the future. More and more companies are dropping products, I pick them up or make my own version, then the future of KJ offroaders has to come to me.

I need everything, armor lift, tow points. But....
I just got my libby, and am saving up the cash for all that. I know that RL only wanted to know about immediate purchases, but I also wanted him to know that there are a few of us that want this stuff and need to save up for it. I don't make that much on enlisted pay....
Keep up the AWESOME work...

So far I have three definates, money in hand ready to order, and three interested for possibly purchasing early '08. If I sell these at the same price as All J, I would need 20 committed orders to pay for the purchase of the plans and rights, and to pay for a batch of 20 with zero profit, just to give an idea what my cost will be just to get these going. That is the reason for this post to get an idea if this is really worth pursuing, atleast in the real near future.

In my younger days (teenager) my father built a dune Buggy, 64 VW frame 14" cut out of the center and droped on a Sears Fiberglass body kit that they sold in the early '70s. Any way withthe VW engine it's sticking straight out their and without a Skid plate come you first dune jump when you land look out your rear view mirror and that thing way back there in yiur mirror is your engine. Hence a skid plate was required. But, back to the point something they did with the skid they put a huge hinge on the plate. The VW had no oil filter you just pulled a plug out of a circular plate drained the oil then unbolt the circular plate pull it out and clean out the fine screen that did all the filteration. Then reinstall , add new oil and drive. The hinged skid plate made getting to the bottom of the engine simple and easily serviced. Would this idea be advantagiuos for transmission serviceing or transfer case or even the engine? Having not done any of the work on my KJ, I haven't any wrenching experience. But I have held a wrench in my hands once or twice. But seeing the quality of your work I feel you do a lot of "How can I do it better and be more appealing for sales?) going through your mind a lot. Considering I haven't seen any hinged pans anywhere, it's either nobody thought of it, or it creates more problem then it solves. Just a thought, please don't let it die of loneliness

This is an old thread but I figured I'd let you know that I'd buy one right now if they were available.

Me too -

I bent my stock ones at Moab and while I was searching for replacements - I only found Skid Rows - and a really nice picture of a bent Skid Row - no pictures of bent Super Skids.
