After hearing about this problem I'm starting to wonder if it isn't a Mopar problem. :? :?: :?

I don't think so, my '89 Dakota didn't really have any brake issues, my dad's 93 didn't, and my KJ doesn't seem to eat brakes excessively (considering my driving habits)

I've got Hawk pads and new rotors and such waiting to get hung on the front end on my rig though so I'll let y'all know how it turns out:)

Just to let you know Hawk pads really suck and you'll hate them, better off just getting some ceramic one's from Napa.Hawk pads came with the PowerSlot's that I put on and 3 days latter I switched them out for better Napa one's,major difference in braking.

That sucks...I've known a lotta people that ran them and they liked 'em. These mofos were expensive too! At least with the NAPA stuff I'll be able to get matching rear shoes. I would've gone EBC, but I couldn't find anything for the KJ.

Who wants to buy some Hawk pads for a KJ

When I got my PowerSlots they gave me a free set of Hawk pads, kinda figured they weren't the best if they just gave them to me,boy was I wrong, they sucked really, really bad.Got both rotors and the pads for $200,3 days later spent another $65 to get decent pads.It was night and day difference after getting decent pads.

Aahh, screw it. I'll run 'em and see how they are. Can't be any worse than OEM pads eh?

I had Hawk pads with my Powerslots for a while. They stopped really well, but were extremely squeaky, and gave off a ton of brake dust. I switched to the best semi-metallics that the Midas down the street from my office had.

Nope no machining of slotted rotors like the PowerSlots or crossdrilled rotors. No need though,I warped my OEM rotors in 10,000 miles, now with 40,000 very hard miles on my PowerSlots they are not warped at all.I drive like a crazied maniac and my stock sized rotors have to slow a KJ that is 1500lbs heavier then stock and they still haven't warped.

I use Napa ceramic pads and like them, though I would recommend new rotors when switching or the pads will not break in good and brake performance will be lowered.

what do you mean? if i do the pads, do new rotors also or the life isnt as great?

What about raybestos brakes? they make ceramic pads. Those are the low dust ones correct?

My brakes are due to be done soon. Im going to go powerslot rotors and some ceramic pads also. Working for lordco autoparts gives me a nice discount for all this stuff. Though lordco is a but overpriced to begin with, up to 60% off on the stuff will even that out and then some lol.

Also drilled and slotted or just slotted? Im not buying from here but when looking at the powerslot rotors, they have two diff kinds:
