I hear ya Wendell, construstion is slow and I'm only averaging about 32 hrs. a week driving a concrete mixer. I have a feeling Lay-Off is going to come very early this year.

Stop by sometime and shoot the stinky poo, I've got some Ranger questions to throw at ya.

I've worked about 2 full weeks in the last 2 months, the boss kept saying it will get better. Then he calls last week and laid me off. I've borrowed money for the last 2 months to make my payments, but now I'm shot, so chrysler is getting it back saturday. I also lost the ranger. My wife is paying for the mustang and said they could take me before they take the stang. I've worked construction all my life and have never had so much trouble working as I've had the last year or so. I'm thinking about driving truck or something. I love dozers, but I have to live. My 4-wheeling is done for a while, no job, no credit, isn't life grand. Big Tree's pretty much screwed me, they worked me less and less and I just kept hanging on hoping it would get better, now the bottom has fallen out. Enough of my crying, you guy's take care and love one another, you have a great site here. I'll visit from time to time while I have electricity and a PC ha ha. "TAKE CARE"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The stang is the bomb, in my present state of mind, I feel like taking it out here on RT 303 and holding it to the floor to see which I run out of first, speedometer, or road. I wouldn't want to take the chance of hurting some one else, it isn't thier fault that I'm a looser. I will addmitt, The stang is the most exciting car that I've driven in a long time, it takes me back to a simpler time. Back then all I had to worry about was gas money and enough cash to get in to norwalk raceway park on saturday night. What makes these new stangs so cool, is they look so much like the old ones. I think this retro thing should catch on, maybe jeep could bring back the CJ or scrambler. Thier allready trying to bring back the cherokee with the patroit and comander.

Don't be down on yourself because of economics beyond your control. This downturn is more that anybody could expect. If you can weather the storm a little longer you will come out a better man. If you think a different occupation would be better for you, go for it. It may be the change you need.

Thats a fact Jimmy, some folks don't even have a place to sleep or food to eat. The Lord has blessed me with an awesome family, church, friends and a great town. I'm crying about a couple of vehicles while still having a new mustang gt and an 08 fusion to drive. I really have nothing to be sad about compared to alot of folks. I will miss my jeep, I've allways had an old jeep of some kind setting around, I feel naked and vilelated ha ha. I'll have to run down to W,VA and pick me up something for the yard, an old willys p/u, flat fender, cj, something. There scattered on the hills down there. I know there's still some jeeps back on the farm, I'll have to walk up on the hill and see whats still there. They don't have to run, just set in the yard and look cool like most of my none running projects have ha ha.

You are no loser. I've ben laid off twice in my life and finally realized it was nothing that I did, just the company's bottom line. Use it if you can as an opportunity to see if other avenues open up for you. What did you really want to do when you were a kid? Now's your chance! Good luck and stay in touch.

When I was a child, I wanted to sell T-shirts on the beach. You goys are right, this is an opertunity to follow my life long dream, I'm gonna go back to school to become a walmart greeter. "Thanks", you guy's have cheered me up, I was only kidding about the walmart greeter, however this a chance to rethink my life and figure out what I reallt want to do besides play with vehicles, if I could just get paid for that I would be set.

hey there are jobs that you do get to test drive cars! lol.

anyways, i would look for something to do you over and get out of construction, if your not ready to go to school, just take a part time labour job at a warehouse for now.

Some warehouse jobs are easy, all my posts made today have been made while i a at work in a warehouse, just like this one lol

Things happen for a reason, most of the time it's for the best. One door shuts and two open up. You'll see you'll find a better job soon. We all get hit by hard times here and their but it’s the way we view them that really makes a difference. Best of luck and keep your head up....

Take it easy mate.
If things don't pick up job wise maybe you should come to Australia on a working visa.
Now that our dollar is catching up to yours it might be worth it 8)

For the few who know mw know I've been out of work for about 2 1/2 months. Well now as Paul Harvy say now for the rest of the story. For the past couple of years i have lived with real serious back problems first diagnois in 2005 as 3 compressed and bulging discs, surgeon recommended stomach buy pass surgery because a 5'8" I weighed over 365 lb's any way I spent almost an entire year jumping through hoops and got the surgery in Feb of 06, I now weigh 245 lb's and the back has gotten worse. now 2 copmressed and bulging and 2 degenerated discs. despite this I continued to do my checking job at King Soopers a Division of Kroger despite my pain I continued to do my job. But I was still a liabilty to the store. Now go back to 3 months prior to March 15th. The stores Deli counter started a self service soup bar., with 3 different flavors of soup each day. I ask the Deli Manager if I could get samples of the different type of soup, he says "Sure that what it's there for". So for the next 3 months almost everyday while I worked on breaks mostly I took half a ladel full of soup in a styrofoam cup and drank it. Store security filmed me for 3 solid months then on day I'm called to the office and I'm informed I'm being terminated for shop lifting. I say WTF and they say the samples were not permisable
not only did they take my job they took away my vacation and sick leave and cancelled my health insurance. Additionally they gave me a Letter of Restitution of payment of $250.00 to be sent to the companys Attourny with in 10 days or faqce further leagal action then they called the citys police in and had me ticketed for petty theft. When i applied for unemployment I was turned down due to termination. I have had to go to the state and I'm registered as an indegent to receive health care an medications for high blood preassure and diabetes. The state will not pay for my opain meds, Percocete and muscle relaxers every 6 hours and and Morophine every 12 hours. I have to pay this to the tune of $250.00+ dollars every month with out any form of income. Now 2 and 1/2 months after I see human sevices on Monday for food stamps, Tuesday I meet with the Union Rep and Arbitrator and a Rep from King Soopers to appeal my wrongfull termination and attempt to get my job back, Wednesday I meet with the Unions Attorney and we face the states Labor board to try and get my unemployment benefits re-instated. How have I lived all during this time my 82 year old mother has supported me from down in Texas. They scariest part of all if I get my job back I just found out a new rule has been instituted and if something heavy is stacted on the bottom of the buggy we are forbidden to ask our sackers (Young Teens) to pick it up for us if we do we are written up. do we see a pattern forming here. When talking with the Countys assistance people they inform me I'm not the only on ourt of work it is hitting epidemic proporssions. At this rate I'm better stay out of work then take the extra hits of getting my job back. Which doesn't sit well with me that is not how I was raised. I beleive in getting honest pay for an hopnest days work. but 51 year old males with bad backs don't have a lot of emoployment options. Sad but true. And as i said now you know the rest of my story.  PS I did mange to plea deal a defered judgement on my ticket so I will not have a criminal record , MY NAME IS CLEARED
