Hey has anyone spoken to AllJ's recently about the boot issue with the new CRD lifts?

Updates on the front boot? Oh, that's been asked before.

I have a question about the rear. I have Airlift springs in the rear coils (and the bump stops removed so they don't punch the bags).

Will this fit with the FrankenLift? I still need to be able to tow my little camper around.

I think the new setup comes without the internal puc. I have the OME struts/springs/long travel rear shocks and am not having any problems with contact on my CRD. Lift is about 2.125" or so...I will have to give it another look, but I have kept an eye on it and it looks good...and rides good. I think any extra lift puts the shorter cv axle on the drivers side in harms way.

The lift height was decreased because to address the installation issues if I remember correctly.

Actually I'm more concerned about the diameter. The stock springs are variable rate and slightly barrel shaped. I've seen some kits with cylindrical springs and others with variable rate. Since the AirLifts are barrel shaped I'm curious to know if the FrankenLift springs look like the stock springs.

Does anyone have the new lift installed yet?

I've got it, installed by All J's in Sept. But I didn't get my rear shocks till last week. Every thing works great, can't wait for another Baja trip.

I just got my Frankinlift with the upgraded OME struts, springs, etc. I installed it in about 5 hours, start to finish. The front went in with no problems. I measured before and after and it is right at 3" lift, front and back. I'm sure it will settle some.
However, the ride is so much better! It just seems to float over the bumps now. I am a happy camper!!!

Nice - I think it took me about 7 hours - installed mine a little over a week ago. Ride quality is EXCELLENT - took the CRD wheeling a couple of days ago - it's a helluva lot more capable than previous, even with the small 235/70r16s. Also got a little trail rash in the paint  Oh well - it might buff out.

Couple of questions - I noticed that the assembled height of the new strut assembly (OME CRD coils, OME struts, factory spacers and strut plates) is the same as the factory - I was a little surprised about that actually ... Anyone else notice that?

I also have a bit of a clunk in the front if I go over a speed bump at moderate speed - anyone have that? It almost sounds like the struts are extending all the way and making the noise ... not sure.

Overall great suspension - WELL WORTH THE MONEY!

Yup, I noticed that too. I called Heather at All J's and asked why the picture instructions showed their strut was about 2" longer than the stock one, and the one that they sent me (OME Struts) was only about 1/2 inch longer? What's up with that?
Her reply was that the longer one in the picture was the Rancho strut where mine was the OME one.
Anyway, it's now 3" taller and rides nice! I too noticed that on fast speed bump attacks there is a clunk sometimes.
The only other thing I noticed that when a full lock turn, it stays there now. It doesn't return to center!
I guess that you have to give some things up to get something......

Mine is the same way about returning to center - I think part of it is that the shop couldn't get the caster back in spec - it's at about 2.4 degrees instead of 3.6. But hey, it's a blast to drive now and sweet to run on the trail!!! Now if I can figure out how to get all the scratches out of the paint LOL

Tim, that loud clunk you are hearing is probably a loose sway bar. Just go back and make sure the swaybar is tightened really good and that should fix the clunking.
