Am I the only one that thinks these flares look just plain stupid?

I like the look of these flat fenders. Kindof retro (CJ2s and 3As), and a lot more clearance when flexed (well, this Jeep may never flex, but you get the point).

I can't stand to see those super-wide, plastic flares on the JKs with the stock rims and tires like this.Image

Go figure, all JK's... Everyone wants to do the same thing and call it different. Pick a different platform. Like the XJ in the first picture group, the KK has huge potential, and is easy to mod since it is square instaed of everything being rounded like our KJs!

Sorry, just a little bitter since I can't afford a JK, oh wait I have a good reason for not affording it

Oh Yikes, I wouldn't say that. I guess you haven't been following the difference between the two. That's OK, enjoy your KJ

Ok, so what's the difference other than the 4wd system vs. Awd?

Everything is identical:

Nitro is longer, has a cubic foot more cargo room and doesn't have 4 low. Big enough differences to not buy a Nitro IMO.

BTW, that link is incorrect. Even my '02 Sport has auto-off headlights. All ChryCo products have since the late 90s...and it says the Liberty doesn't?

Sweet pics though:D

The nitro is two inches long, gimme a break . My 03 limited doesn't have auto headlights, so I dunno what you're talking about there. I've driven in a Grand that has them: They turn on by themselves and adjust for highbeams by themselves. The engine, suspension, unibody, and exterior body are near identical Nitro vs. Liberty...get over your Jeep ego guys.

The nitro also only has a 4 link rear end where as the KK has a five link setup. Still claiming the suspension is the same

Well, I'm clearly not going to convince the KK owner. But, in my eyes they are the same vehicles..the KK is based off the Nitro. Sure, there are some different quirks: 5 vs. 4 link, 2" longer etc. but, it's still a live axle on the same unibody as the other. The body styling is exactly the same except the front fascia. I'm not bashing the KK at all, I like it, but it's based off the Nitro...fact.

lol Donnie, I'm not trying to fight with ya. Your just misinformed. The Nitro is built on a platform as the KK.... fact. But that platform was ment for the KK all of long. Jeep was too busy with getting the Compass and Patrioit out that the Libby update was pushed back. They then released the Nitro to fill the gap in Dodge's line up (compact SUV) and to gage how the sales would be for the KK.
