About a year ago my cruise control went out. The dash light still turns on but I can not get it to engage or do anything for that matter.

Does the cruise control have it's own fuse by any chance??? If so, which fuse is it? I want to see if it's something simple before I take it to the dealer. I'm taking a roadtrip to Flordia at the end of the year (1000 miles each way) so I really need to get this thing fixed soon.

Thanks!

Could be anything from the control buttons, to the actuator, to the clock-spring.

it is encouraging that your light comes on(I suspect the clockspring is fine if that is the case), I would investigate the control buttons or the actuator.

So it's not a fuse issue or anything like that then?

I doubt it. Snag some cruise buttons at the junkyard and switch em out. otherwise, make sure the actuator is plugging in, make sure it has a good vacuum source, and lastely make sure the cable is actually connected!

Check under the hood, there should be two cables connected to the throttle mechanism, one is for the accelerator, the other for the cruise control. I had the same problem as you, and it was just the cruise cable cable had come loose.
