No, the bluetec in the liberty would not be overly impressive when you can buy a CRD libby anyway.

the bluetec in an XJ on the other hand........

Why must you tease us so? You are an EVIL EVIL man Sam. You really need to find a way to pick that up and put it back together, or pilliage it for yourself and us.

I think that Bluetec would look VERY nice under the hood of my 97 ZJ (Is it a ZJ? Its a Grand Cherokee Limited)

yes, 93-98 grand = ZJ

84-01+ cherokee = XJ

I think the bluetec would look way better under the hood of my XJ.

Which is probably why you will never tell us where you found this, so you can keep it for your own evil plans for world domination.

I agree that it looks like it only needs minor repair... But that also looks like an insurance graveyard where the totaled cars go to wait to die or be sold off for what the owner got shafted with as a payout.

That one should be sold to a rebuilder, but I tend to believe that the insurance companies will look at that as just another Jeep, NOT a CRD, and won't ascribe it any special value. That being the case... You *might* be closer to affording it than you think. Depending on the mileage (which will affect the book value) the insurance company most likely only paid out straight-book to the owner once the magic 70% number on the damage estimate was reached. Then subtract the deductible from that, for another $2k (potentially) off... And the insurance company probably would be willing to accept 50-60% (maybe less) than the book-minus-deductible just to be rid of the thing. They are NOT in the business of fixing cars, only paying in and out. They don't WANT the car.

If you really were in a position to want it... Call them, at least then you would have a number to tease us with too.

It's at auction, eventually it will be up for sale.

It has 2100 miles.

Even at the prices your talking thats 10-15k.

Thats more than I make in a year.

If I bought it, fixed it, and sold it, I could make 10-15k on it.

I once saw a $110,000 Mercedes needing about 10K in work sell for $65.

I saw a $150,000 Lamborghini Diablo Needing about 30k in repairs sell for 56k.

I saw a $80,000 Porsche needing 22k in repairs sell for 16k.

I can have my dreams cant I?
