If they fit, count me in for the buy.

No, we dont, but juding from what I know of other kits $200 would be the high end. I kinda expect around $150 or a little more.

We will see what price we can get for a groupbuy, and remember, the more people we get the lower we can get.....

hmmm new thread time......

If the company isnt willing to ship you guys your sets overseas I can just ship them out myself for ~$30 extra in shipping.

took off EHM and plug MAF back in and went to the dealer. They looked at the oily hose and said
by Design it is supposed to be that way. AAARRRGGGHHH. If it splits or blows than they will replace it but they do not stock
the hose so how long will I be out of a ride? Come on Samco hoses.

How pathetic is that? By design it's supposed to weep oil. That's a LIE! They used the wrong material and they are too cheap to admit it.

UFO, I agree with you. Talking with the Service manager and the mechinic. I mentioned some of the guys are using Provent
and they said that is probable why the hoses are bursting. Lack of oil in them.
61 years old and I feel like I just fell off the turnip truck. I may look stupid and probably drink too much
but GEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZ.

Can they send these directly here to th house? It would be cheaper than sending them to the US first.

My CRD is starting to make those weird fluttering/whistling noises as well. I can't wait for the SAMCO hoses to come to market. From what I have seen, the hose that usually tears is the hose on the passenger side of the vehicle that runs from the turbo (near firewall) to the front of the car into the inlet of the intercooler. The split is usually "underneath" the weird black cloth wrap that is placed over the mid-section of this hose. The cloth wrap hides the tear so you cannot see it unless you remove it. You can easily do this by loosening the clamp on the intercooler inlet side of the hose near the front of the jeep. Then pull the hose off and you will be able to see inside the hose and be able to remove the cloth wrap thing from the outside. I'd check all around that main hose for a tear.

This is the hose that fails most often, it seems:

Now that's interesting. My european KJ from 03 has no such cloth. I've been tinkering about with those hoses when I installed my oil catch can. There was plenty of greasy sooth around the hoses where they touch eachother (kinky bastar_ds).

I've been thinking if there was a proper way to keep the hoses from wearing themselves down by keeping them from grinding on each other all the time....

Yes still drivable, CEL was on & I had no boost, you can really tell how much extra power the turbo gives. its a slug without the turbo. Mine sounded like a tyre inflation hose at the service station without a tyre on it.ssssssssshhhhhhhhhhh.

LOL - that reminds me of when my dads old Mitsubishi Pajero (Shogun to some of you) '87 lost its wastegate valve. It unscrewed itself during a trip, and the car was so slow. It sounded like a fishing boat. Dok dok dok dok dok dok dok dok dok.

It was a slug too. With the turbo it would do 140kph, without a turbo it would only go to 100kph. Ahh, memories...

I dropped the Jeep off at the dealer Wednesday for an oil change, and to check out the funny whoosing/fluttering noises. Sure enough, they called this morning to let me know that an intercooler hose and some other suspect hoses have been ordered. I'm going to try to get a ride over there to pick it up until the parts come in. I'll try to find out exactly what parts were ordered, and share with the group.

I'm leaning more and more toward the Samco hoses, even at $200 a set.

I checked out some of the websites that offer silicone hose and elbows at a considerable discount over what Samco charges. One main reason for that - Made in China.

One website actually bragged about their "made in China" components, about how it let them undercut the competition with "affordable components", and were as bold to tell potential customers that if they had a problem with their stuff being made in China, they didn't understand how many items in their daily lives was already made in China and that they just didn't understand how the economy worked!

In other words, they just flat-out told potential customers "if you don't like where our products are made, go somewhere else".

You get what you pay for. I'll be going with the Samco hoses.
