Well, sort of... I saw this and thought I would share it. I am not using this product and have no connection to the sellers.

That makes about 4 companies that I know of so far that have or are developing modules/chips for the CRD. Dr Performance Predator (which there is already a thread on), Dieseltuning North America, and Bully Dog is asking for beta testers to help develop their's, and now TS Performance.

Well I haven't seen a dyno graph yet, or any promises about reliability. Or fuel economy, or anything else. Even if you could now pull more, how do you put it to the ground? How do you keep it behind you with that short wheelbase we got? Will the tranny and rearend hold an extra 100 ft lbs? The front end is a weak point now, now what? Will it overheat? You put fuel in, you have to get rid of the heat, reports already say that some are having overheating problems now. Been a diesel mechanic for 30 years, hot rodding a diesel is old hat, could always do it. Reliable hp has been the problem. The Motori already makes almost 1 hp per cubic inch, that's still about the limit with reliability. You seen the con rods and pistons in this engine? Pretty light weight auto looking stuff.

Bowling Green...wow...I lived there for 4.5 years. Didn't know they even had a diesel performance shop! Might have to go by and talk to them about this module..

The tranny will handle it no problem. This tranny is handling 375 lb/ft in the Hemi Rams. What I would be concerned about though is reliability. 400 lb/ft of torque out of 2.8 liters...hmm... That would be a wicked ride but after several thousand miles the inside of that motor might not look good.

Seems like I read that the internals on this engine are real heavy duty. You say that they are cheap looking? That concerns me a bit.

It's going to depend which brand of module you buy, does it work as advertised or is it an overpriced piece of crap that just dumps in more fuel, no sensors or safety limits.

It's also going to depend on how and when and how often you make use of that added performance. Someone on another thread said they'd seen chipped vehicles run for over 100K miles with no problems, and other blow apart in less than 10K miles. Of all the components on the vehicle, a lot of it comes down to the loose nut holding the steering wheel!

Don't just jump on the first module that strikes your fancy, talk to people that have used them long term, do some research to see what features they offer, and pay attention to their advertising - are they just screaming about gut-ripping power, or do they seriously discuss the engineering behind the product and give you some honest-to-god data to look at?

Also, what are you looking for? Are you a flat-out speed junkie that just wants to hot-rod your vehicle, or are you looking for a potential MPG increase when driven normally, occasionally calling on that added power for towing, steep hills, or merging onto the interstate?

If you're concerned about reliability and not damaging your vehicle, look for something along the line of a Banks Six Gun tuner, that monitors most if not all of the OEM sensors on the engine and tranny, that has built in safety limits, and where they make a point of discussing how these safeties are set up to prevent damage to your vehicle.

Have you worked on the CRD motor? Just curious where you have had the opportunity to see the internal? I'm dissapointed that they appear light-duty...

I think the overheating was an early production issue that has been resolved with a new flash for the PCM. Maybe after market heavey duty connecting rods and pistons will become available in future.

For some info on how these performance modules work, try checking out Turbo Diesel Register, magazine/website for Dodge Cummins equipped trucks. Issues 47 and 48 have a couple of articles explaining how these different brands of modules go about getting their power increases and what effect they have on your engine, such as EGT's and fuel rail pressures.

Off topic , i just mounted the light bar on my crd limited and waiting for the 4 HID light bulb kit to come so i can convert the light bar into HID

This is one I might be willing to try. They state up front that they boost performance only to the point that it doesn't impact fuel efficiency, they don't override the built-in safety limits on the vehicle, they don't fool around with jacking up fuel rail pressure or turbo boost, the only thing their module supposedly changes is fuel injector timing and duration. And they don't make outrageous claims about MPG increases, saying that with the proper settings and driving technique you could see upwards of a 3% increase in fuel efficiency. they also seem to have a track record, 15 years of supplying these modules for diesels in Europe and Canada.

Thats how I read "plug and play", I am interested in tuning also but I don't want it to mean 7 liter v10 economy either. Or broken parts. I guess I am wanting tranny tuning, if only they would have put the 6 speed in this thing!, thats my only real gripe.

Ford 6.0 L diesel 95 ft lbs torque/liter.
Chevy 6.6L 78.79 ft lbs/ liter.
Dodge 5.9L 103.38 ft lbs/liter.
Jeep 2.8L 105.35 ft lbs/liter.

I found 50 HP
