I think Jeepnuts bumper is one of the nicest setups...here's his ebay pics of it for sale. Wht a great mod job he did with it and it just seems to look perfect with the winch on his KJ.

Ok its on :D

but as mentioned previously theres is nothing that can be done for the fog light holes, and how I can fill the gap between the fender flares and bumper. So I am asking for suggestions for some cosmetic fixes. Also I dont know if Im going to be able to fit a winch in the space unless I move the front plate forward and inch or two.. I took a few pics but its dark now so i will take more tomorrow.

So thats their "fix" ?? :? :?
I thought that they would do something where your turn signals were? Im sorry but I still would not be happy with that. If they will not do anything else then I would go to a good body shop and have them fabricate a piece to go in there out of metal and attach it.
As far as the grill goes grab some fiberglass and cover the hole up and repaint the grill, that would take care of the hole(s)
Have you sent pictures to TR yet, are they happy with the looks of it?
I guess I was expecting more looks good otherwise.

I would have thought TR would replace your fenders since the fender wasn't built right to begin with. As for the lights fill them with fiberglass and repaint. (Something I thought TR would have done to help make things right). Glsd to see they mounted it for you though.

For where the old lights were could you do:

Just a thought.

I have to agree, that is not a fix, they just made it fit w/o accounting for looks.

Well I figured I would just use the area intended in the bumper ( 02-04 ) turn signals. That was my decision, Simply for the fact that the lil plastic clip that holds the top part of the bumper where the 05+ turn signal is housed would have been very week, unless I figured out some way of gluing or something, plus it had more potential of catching a rock or getting ripped off by a branch or something, so at least now that its behind and inside the bumper its a stronger setup. So I got some turn signals from the junk yard off an 03. If I didn't that area wouldn't have been utilized. So Again that lil gap needs a cosmetic fix, something like some aluminum or a lil diamond plate. but I agree its ugly. But the bumper is on and sturdy and functional. I agree about the fog holes. ill figure out something to put in there to plug it up and then just paint the grille over again.

the problem there is the gap with the bumper on is shorter than the width of the turn signal lens. but again have the OEM bumper and can still hack it up and utilize those pieces if need be

Have to agree too. They made it mount on your Jeep, but they're not finished. The difficult work still needs to be done.

They will need to cut off and relocate the fairlead mount and drill new holes. As I mentioned before, the 05+ grill sticks out further by about 1" more than the 02-04 KJ's, which is why the rear winch mount bolts are so close to the grill. It's hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like the rear winch mount holes are partially over the crossmember as well, which could be a problem for those with any year KJ, since the front crossmember and unibody did not change between the years.

Ok, KJ is at the fab shop getting bumper on. the fab guy says no problem. i hopefully will pick it up tomorrow afternoon. his only concern is how hes going to do the fender and flare deal over the top of the bumper, also he doesnt believe he can do anything about the factory fogs and or holes. so Im just going to have him wire up the PIAA's and figure out how I will just cover up the fog holes in the grille.....

Some "cold air ducts" out of those fog light holes

If you cut the OEM bumper longer then needed, and then fill in the turn signal area, then you can trim the bottom to where you need it, that way the upper part of the piece fits to the bottom of the fender. Might have to 'custom' cut it to try and blend it to the new bumper since the new bumper is not as wide as the fender. Hopefully the body shop guy will be able to blend it by cutting and filling with fiberglass.

Sorry, glossed over your request for ideas. I'm thinking fiberglass. I've seen Terry's 2 door convertible KJ up close and he used fiberglass to do it. Most people don't even notice it's a 2 door or a convertible when it has the top on it. Just notice the big lift. People don't realize that my hood he made for me is fiberglass until I tell them.

A quick sketch of my idea:

Something like that, basically using the OEM bumper to fill in the gap.

Looking something like:

Hey DOC glad to see that you got it put on, I wished we could have hooked up some how so I could have helped make it cosmetically appealing. At least it is functional now.

Heres a couple pics of the Liberator. They have the same gapage goin on. I think it looks kinda cool. Reminds me of TJ flares with a steel bumper. But, you have some nastiness thats being exposed by that gap. If you look closely at these pics, it seems that the Liberators body panels cover that area even with the gap. This might be because its from an 02-04 KJ. Or it could be because thats a Mopar built concept car and they fabbed everything. I dunno.

I don't think the gap looks all that bad at all, similar to the liberator front end. Just paint all the white behind the bumper, under the flares and showing behind the edge of the grille black and I bet it will look better instantly. I like Darbys idea of some cold air ducts if you can route them to a plenum and then on to the air filter box. It is a Jeep so I would go for functional over perfection in the way it looks. Unless of course they are going to fix it up for you which they probably should.
I would at least get them to move the fairlead mount and redrill the holes so you can mount a winch in the future.
At least you now have it on there. :)
