No, the interior dimensions are different. I am pretty sure the pinion shaft is longer on the 30a as well. Exterior, I think is close, but have not looked close.

The ring gear(ring gear only) and the carrier are the same for the D30 and D30A and that's about it.

well I used that Lube Locker gasket for my rear Diff and its working great. So I thought id try one for the front Diff when I do it...

No need to take the front diff cover off,just use the drain plug on the bottom of the front diff.
