mmmm snow, took this pic at midnight tonight after quite a fun drive 10 miles home in this storm, snowed probably 4 inches by the time I left to the time I got home (maybe a 15 or 20 min drive)

remember I did this in the middle of the night, so the pic is a little strange but also very awesome looking, and the drive home was equally amazing

Image

compare that picture to the one taken yesterday when it was 50 degrees out!

Image

the pictures are taken from approximately the same position, the night shot is just a little further back from the jeep than the day shot, jeep is parked in the same spot on he driveway for reference.

Nice and warm down here in the sunshine state. I don't miss the snow at all!

My KJ is jealous, it has been waiting since August to get in the snow. How did the Rubi handle it?

great picture by the way, surprising how fast it can come down at times and pile up! Was in Casper, wy. working one time, walked into get something to eat, came back out an hour later and nothing was hardly moving at all, not even me!

Now lets see some ACTION shots in the snow!

the mtr's did okay in this snow because it was fresh. I slid around a few turns in 4 hi and 3rd gear going about 10 mph because they like to float, and the bottom surface was packed down. Sorta makes me want to get some tires with a decent amount of siping like some commercial traction TAs or some pro comp all terrains. I did take it partway up georgia pass the other day and most of the snow was either very packed down or just total ice, so I could definitely tell that these tires werent made for the ice. At least I got to learn how the lockers work on it hehehe

I had a lot of fun earlier this morning. I love snow! The one thing though is the Rubi is more fun because you have to "drive" it in the snow. The Liberty with the longer wheel base & ESP really takes all the fun out of it.

I kinda miss knowing that I have ABS on the liberty, that definitely helped in some hairy situations on the road, but I would definitely prefer the rubicon over the liberty after having driven both. Just dropping it into 1st gear brings the jeep down to about 3 mph, so that works very well when you need to come up to a stop sign or stoplight when its icy. My liberty didn't have traction control or anything though (do the pre '08s even have that option?)

I heard 2" here but we are just scraping the northern end of the system. If we get 2" I will be out there before it melts.

*sigh* I REALLY miss snow. I used to volunteer to go to work to drive on snowy nights just because I liked driving around in the snow and watching it fly towards the car. I can't wait to move to CO!!!!!

They are predicting 10-20cm - that's about 4-8" of the white stuff up here overnight into tomorrow... BRING IT ON! :-)

So, how does it snow in Hell? I wonder who made those phrases? Rain like Hell, Snow like Hell, Windy as Hell, etc.......I have to say I am confused about Hell. Sounds like Kansas.....LOL!

We got snow after it made it past the Rockies. The roads were solid ice this morning. Just tossed in 4 Full-time and drove until I felt that 4 Part-time was needed.

AAAAAH i can't wait for snow. Stupid Ohio in November:(

it's supposed to snow today, but it's not supposed to stick. I really wanna find out how these MTR's do in the snow...they should be fun and interesting in a vehicle with no ABS or traction control:D
