Yeah Mitch, keep him in suspence. I want to let the other person tell his own story.

Raymond,
I offered in the previous posts, to let someone drive my Jeep so I would be free to get out to spot and take pictures. If you had just shown up, the job would have been yours.

First of all, it was a really great time. Wellsville is a pretty cool place with lots and lots of fun trails and playgrounds and creeks and such. Big thanks to KJ04 for leading, like Mitch said, and also a big thanks to everyone, but especially him for helping me out, following me home and such. Now for the pics:

Yep, "pop goes the differential"...
I'm not trying to make excuses for myself or anything, but I really did not think that the conditions at that moment would cause this. I'm usually pretty carful to not let it bounce, etc. but here it is.

So now I'm off to the wonderful world of the internet to find myself a new diff!

Cool pics everyone...looks like it was a great time.

Jon...sorry to hear about the diff. It must be the season for em'....

I'm not sure about Ohio...but we have free "Indiana Auto & RV" magazines at the quikie marts and I found a few parts and repairable places out of there and just called around to see what they had. Some are high and some are low...you just have to keep trying until you find a good place with a good quote.

BTW...mine broke about the same exact way...the piece that cracked off looks identical. Welcome to the Midwest blown diff club. Strike another one for the books!

14th picture from the end of Jon coming up the hill is that about where the "big bang " was?? Maybe just camera angle but his tire on left side appears to be cutting right and the right side is straight ahead, or am I just still too full of turkey to see straight? Wondering if something like that was the cause ? Just thinking out loud??!!

So I had a great time, no damage, but I did manage to add a few new pinstripes all the way down my Jeep.
Thanks to Nick our Fearless leader! He made the day run very smoothly!

Tom,

I think it's this shot here. Jon's left front tire is about 2 feet away from about a 2 foot high ledge. I wish I had a shot from behind, that would of given a better perspective. I think this might have been his first attempt at it. I think it cracked on the second attempt. He didn't seem to be pushing any harder to get over that point than the rest of us. He was the last of 5 of us to take that line though, so I'm sure the ground loosened up allot by the time he got to it. Once on the ledge, both tires were spinning, looked like it started to jump a little and then the the right stopped and then crack.
