I thought of a silly idea this afternoon and I have a couple of questions.

Here's the list  :

1. Limited Wheels will fit on a renegade, correct? I'm like 99.999999% sure that they would, I just want to make sure.

2. How much would it cost to get a set of wheels painted? Not the whole wheel, just parts. ( I mean by a professional, a high quality job )

3. What size tires do the limited wheels use?

Thanks.

What year for the Limited wheels? My limited wheels are 03s and are 16" rims. The new ones are 17" I believe.

Either way they will have the same bolt pattern and will fit.

Well I would probably be thinking 04-06, since my renegade is an 05. How much to be painted though?

I'd wager it'd run you around $500 at least. I'd get em powder coated if it were me.

'02-04 Limiteds have 16x7" Mechanica wheels. '05 Limiteds have 17x7.5" Dakar wheels. These are the same wheels '03 Freedom Editions came with, but they are painted silver instead of graphite. The wheels are $299 each.

I wouldn't get 17s unless you don't plan on wheeling though. The tires are hard to find and expensive.

Also do not forget that the larger the wheel, the smaller the inflated part of the wheel/tire combo that will fit under stock and lifted libs. What this means is that you will have less "give" in the tire and will have a rougher ride off road (but better street feel most likely). This is even more exaggerated when you run in situations where "airing down" is desired in that you won't get nearly as much benefit from doing so with larger wheels. I would stay with 16s if I could.

Well due to the price I won't be going with larger wheels anyway, but I only do pretty mild offroading. All of the trails are already well cut in, the ruts in the trails are typically only a foot deep, and water crossings are usually 10" or less. If we had something like moab or even a beach around here then I would probably stay away from larger rims .. but unfortunately the wheeling scene is lame in this area :( .

Thanks for the replies though! .. I wish I had enough for a lift and moabs+mtrs

Yeah, I'll second the airing down part. I certainly lose some height when I air down too. One of these days I'll have a real job again and I'll be able to afford some 16" steel wheels and some tires.
