I will do only the F31 and nothing else. I will tell them, no no no f37, do f31 or no flash at all. Maybe it would be better to pay $210 for a new TCM and replace it and see how it runs. Oh gosh I don't want them (the dealer) touching my Jeep. Is a new TCM plug and play??
Man....I didn't mean to totally mess you up!
Here is my understanding, most of the software/firmware upgrades don't much stand alone. While the F31 restored standard OBDII code capabilities it was an update to an earlier version that improved shift points (If I recall correctly). When the F37 came out it was a mish mash of stuff including the new TC and possibly the pump, plus programing of the ECM and the TCM. But those last two are the current software versions and they include all the improvements prior to the F37 including the F31 changes (At the time some suggested the F31 changes to the shift points were the parts of the F37 that were actually destroying performance but after I had the F31 done I didn't see much change). Many never had the F31 because they hop skipped directly to the F37.
I may be wrong here, I am old enough that yesterday's reality does not always come through to today. I would go to a really good dealer and sit down with them and figure it out before I made the leap if I were adament against the F37.
