Let me see where I am at in January, I have some other pending expenses, but I am likely 85% or better. If I go for it I will plan a trip in the Spring since I need to burn vacation before June 1.

Guys, I am not lifted so I'm not doing Moab. It would be fun though.

I have a 2002 Liberty Sport don't want the stinger but would like to use my factory Fog and Turn signals the use of factory light on the old Jeepin Al's discontinued bumper always attracked me for the factory look with a good bumper.
By the way being in Colorado A road trip would be fun.

Ya I have the guinnie pig. I had not really thought of using the factory fogs for those years so I will have to make that an opption. I plan on using the factory turn signals that is mainly why i needed the guinnie pig.So keep watching so when i get it done for those years you can make the road trip instead of paying for shipping :D

An old Robin William line from his Mork and Mindy Days yes I'm that old 8)
the original line was I await with baited breath ( which I beleive may derive from Shakespear) but Robin Williams used the above line.

I have a few suggestions:

1.) Make the bumper allow for more ground clearance. Farther from the ground toward the tires and closer in the middle. Like ths FJ for example.

2.) Take some pictures farther away! I can't tell what the jeep looks like with it on.

The problem with what you are suggesting is it would expose all the things you need to protect Radiator, washer bottle, horns, This bumper is meant to be a bolt on not a change everything on the jeep. And us guys with a CRD dont have an option for moving the washer bottle without huge inconvinience so if what im gathering what you are saying correctly this
would not really work. :D

I will get some pics farther away though.

You know, even for us gassers, relocating the washer bottle results in about 1/2 the capacity. That's a real pain if you live where there's snow--dirty slush and water are always dirtying up your windshield, so you really need a good supply of washer fluid.

If your primary concern is ground clearance, I'd suggest a RL front bumper. In fact, there are a lot of scenarios where Marty's bumper is going to be better. But I'm only looking for "good enough" approach, and I like the idea of keeping my washer bottle where it is.

the horns; at least on the gassers; are not in the bumper. There rightr under the battery. An besides this bumper isnt just ment to function. Its also ment to look like it fits the vehicle. An by bringing the bumper up any farther you may start to expose other things that might get rocked by well a rock or maby a log... whatever. Things like tie rods and anything in that general area. Most of the time; but there are rare times when it does happen; your not going to get perfect functionality and bueaty out of something. Its usually going to be a combintion of the two things.

Very well put :D I tried to get as much of both worlds as I possibly could into this bumper and in my oppinion did a pretty good job.the horns on the CRD hang down about 3/4 of what the washer bottle do however they are under the battery. At least they hang that low on mine.
