Other than biodiesel, what brand of additive do any of you use? Have you found one brand to be superior over another? I saw the article that was posted about this topic, but wanted to know your personal experience. Thanks.

I love my Jeep diesel!

I use 4 oz of power service silver bottle and 2 oz of 2cycle oil per tank in mine.

Hmm, I was going to run 6oz of each. Am I on the high side? Do you see a significant effect from the mixture you're running? You ought to post your mixture in this thread too.

6 and 6 might be better Some CRD's get good mileage and some don't. Mine don't and never has. I think my high was 25 But my useage is all short trip city driving for now. But it's almost twice what my last 3 Cherokees was

So let me get this straight.... you add 2 cycle oil into your fuel tank? what does that do? is it for better lubrication, mileage??????

I also own a Ford F350 Powerstroke diesel but the CRD is in everyday use.

In the Ford diesel forum, most use the white bottle Power Service because it has a gel point depressent which is desired for winter. Many owners have run numerous concentration trials and the concensus is to follow directions on the bottle.

In the study on thedieselstop, the power service product did not increase lubricity lower than the spec for ULSD, which is higher than the manufacturers wanted. As you can see, 2 stroke oil will, but is a poor substitute for biodiesel.

I run Power Service, and will try the 2 cycle oil but,

I don't have an electric outlet, what would be the best additive(or combo) for cold start up?

Prollem being, vast majority of Bio-D stations are north of the Mason-Dixon line - just a tad fur piece from here for the monthly Sunday morning fillup - Wallyworld and TC-W3 is only 2miles from here - not much of an economic dilema for me, even tho I am not a rocket scientist.............
